Randy Choate has signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers.
Choate had a similar deal with the Blue Jays earlier this season before being released and he has sat as a free agent up until now. L.A. wasted no time by getting him into action in the Arizona rookie ball league on Thursday night. At 40, he is clearly very much at the end of his career but as a LOOGY he really doesn't tally the workload that normal relievers do. At 40 years young and with 672 MLB relief appearances under his belt, Choate just continues to find work. The lefty specialist posted a 3.95 ERA across 71 games (27 1/3 innings) for the Cardinals in 2015.
