Cotts was reassigned to the Nationals' minor-league camp Wednesday, MLB.com's Jamal Collier reports.
Cotts was a useful bullpen piece for the Brewers and Twins in 2015, but after failing to find much success while pitching exclusively at the Triple-A level last season, he was forced to settle for a minor-league deal with the Nats in the offseason. While he threw respectably in spring training, Cotts didn't shine nearly enough for the Nationals to justify opening up a 40-man roster spot for him. Assuming he decides to stick with the organization, Cotts figures to open the campaign with Triple-A Syracuse.
Rangers have signed LHP Neal Cotts to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Round Rock.
Cotts appeared in 68 games last season for the Brewers and Twins, going 1-0 with a 3.41 ERA while striking out 58 over 63.1 innings.
Yankees have signed Neal Cotts to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre.
Cotts has yet to pitch this year but was decent in 63.1 innings last year when he played for both the Brewers and Twins and posted a 3.41 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 58 strikeouts.
Angels released Neal Cotts after he opted out of his minor-league deal.
The Angels now need to make a decision on whether or not he is worthy of a major league call up because otherwise he's as good as gone. With plenty of teams out there looking for bullpen help, Cotts is sure to have a job in no time.
