Justin Maxwell signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox.
Maxwell has had a very unsuccessful major league career up until this point, so maybe he can turn it around with the Red Sox farm system. The pinnacle of his game came with the Astros in 2012 when he blasted 18 homers. He hasn't had another season with more than seven.
Justin Maxwell has been granted his release from the Marlins.
Maxwell will look to catch on with another team and has no fantasy value going into the 2016 season right now.
Marlins signed OF Justin Maxwell to a minor league contract.
It was a not-so-great season for Justin Maxwell in the Bay Area. The slash line was .209/.275/.341 in 274 plate appearances and we haven't really seen much good from him since the 2012 season with the Astros. He is not longer a spring chicken at 32 years old and probable won't be on fantasy baseball radars ever again. He will likely be used as depth in the Marlins' minor league system.
Giants have designated Justin Maxwell for assignment.
The Marlon Byrd acquisition made Maxwell expendable. The 31-year-old has flashed power, but doesn't have the contact skills to be a viable major league regular.
