The Giants are just adding depth for spring training and seeing if they could possibly catch lightning in a bottle. Johnson hasn’t pitched in a big league game since 2013 and underwent Tommy John surgery for the third time in September of 2015. Fantasy owners can completely ignore this situation.

This is truly a sad story for a once promising young pitcher. Johnson never felt right after his second Tommy John dealing with one setback after another until his ligament just snapped again. You have to give the man credit, he does plan to rehab and try to make another comeback. We all will be rooting for Johnson.

Not big surprise and no great loss. Johnson is a perennial disappointment as he succumbs to one injury or another and is a completely wasted pick in any fantasy leagues. Move along. Nothing left to see here.

That's never good news for players coming off Tommy John, as any setbacks can prove to take a long time to overcome. Hopefully Johnson is good by next spring.
