Jonathan Herrera has elected free agency.
With the Cubs infield already crowded with super prospects, Herrera has made the smart move and elected free agency. The 2B will find work somewhere in the league as a backup infielder for 2016.
Jonathan Herrera went 1-for-1 with a pinch hit solo home run against Arizona on Sunday.
Herrera plays sparingly and does something productive sparingly when he does make his way on to the field. He’s not much of a consideration.
Jonathan Herrera went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and three RBI on Thursday afternoon against the Mets.
He’s got a .250 OBP and is a sporadic starter for the Cubs. Don’t rely upon Herrera going forward in any fantasy format.
Jonathan Herrera went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBI against the Pirates on Thursday.
He’s a solid utility guy wherever he goes, though he’s not really made for the fantasy game. He’s a slick-fielding defensive guy with minimal power in his bat. His greatest value to fantasy owners is in NL-only leagues during short stretched like this when he’s seeing some at-bats. In other words, there’s not much value overall.
