Jerry Blevins has retired from baseball.
Blevins announced the news on his personal Twitter account Tuesday. The 37-year-old left-hander signed a minor league contract with the Mets over the offseason but did not appear to be in their immediate plans for the 2021 campaign. He last pitched in a major league game with the Braves in September 2019.

The 37-year-old southpaw pitched four seasons with the Mets from 2015 - 2018, where he registered a 3.38 ERA and 1.27 WHIP across 138 2/3 innings. He had signed a minor league deal with the Giants prior to spring training last season, but was released in early April. He'll add bullpen depth for the Mets.

Blevins signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training back in January. The left-hander was relatively useful with the Braves in 32 1/3 innings with a 3.90 ERA and 37/16 K/BB ratio, but struggled in the Cactus League by allowing nine earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings. He'll likely be given a chance to make another club when and if the roster freeze for 2020 comes to an end.
Blevins signed a minor-league contract with San Francisco on Monday, which includes an invitation to spring training, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Blevins posted a 3.90 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with a 37:16 K:BB over 32.1 frames last season with the Braves out of the bullpen, registering 10 holds and a save over that span. He'll get a chance to win a roster spot in San Francisco with a strong showing in spring training.
