Blevins announced the news on his personal Twitter account Tuesday. The 37-year-old left-hander signed a minor league contract with the Mets over the offseason but did not appear to be in their immediate plans for the 2021 campaign. He last pitched in a major league game with the Braves in September 2019.

Blevins signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training back in January. The left-hander was relatively useful with the Braves in 32 1/3 innings with a 3.90 ERA and 37/16 K/BB ratio, but struggled in the Cactus League by allowing nine earned runs in just 3 2/3 innings. He'll likely be given a chance to make another club when and if the roster freeze for 2020 comes to an end.
