Veteran LHP Jeff Francis will retire after 11 seasons in the Major Leagues.
Francis was able to put together a productive 11-year MLB career with six different teams. He finished sixth in the National League Rookie of the Year Award voting in 2005 and he finished ninth in the N.L. Cy Young Award voting in 2007. The majority of his MLB playing career was with the Rockies and he was a member of that team for eight seasons. Francis finished his career with a 72-82 record with a 4.97 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP and he stuck out 869 hitters in 1,291.0 innings.
Jeff Francis cleared outright waivers will join Triple-A Buffalo on Friday.
