Chad Billingsley is traveling to Los Angeles to have elbow examined by his doctor.
Since his doctor has been out of the country, Chad Billingsley can now meet with him this week. Dr. El Attrache has performed both of Billingsley's prior elbow surgeries and he hopes for clarity in regards to his injury and how to proceed. Billingsley is 2-3 this year with a 5.84 ERA.
General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Chad Billingsley's elbow injury could be season-ending.
Unfortunate news for the veteran as it appears Billingsley will be out again for the year with more arm troubles. He had attempted another comeback in Philly, but after a few starts, it appears that dream has been killed again.
Update: Chad Billingsley was diagnosed with mild flexor tendinitis. There was no structural damage.
Gee, he cannot catch a break. Billingsley has dealt with countless arm injuries over the past few seasons, and mild flexor tendinitis seems to be the next ailment he will need to overcome. He should be dropped in all leagues.
Chad Billingsley has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with elbow soreness.
In seven starts this, Billingsley has been rotten, owning a 5.84 ERA in only 37 innings, despite a scoreless five innings on Saturday. His 15 strikeouts in seven starts are also a number to frown upon, considering that only amounts to 2.2 per outing. The injury, if more serious than just elbow soreness will be an unfortunate one for the veteran right-hander, but the fantasy world will easily move on without him for the rest of the season.
