There are some clear top players to build lineups around, along with some value options.
NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, November 20th
We're looking at a solid slate where we can keep the player pool tight and target a few teams with slight variations of stacks.
The Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, and Los Angeles Kings should be the primary stacks for many tonight.
NHL DFS Pick'em Picks On Sleeper Fantasy
- Martin Necas Over 1.5 Points
- Jack Eichel Over 3.5 Shots on Goal
- Tyler Seguin Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
Martin Necas is absolutely on fire right now and with an easy matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers, he's an easy option tonight. Necas comes in with a whopping 21 points and 27 shots on goal over his last 10 games, which is a rate he should be able to continue tonight. The Flyers allow 3.12 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fourth-most in the league. This is a smash spot for Necas.
Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights have been a bit up and down as a team lately, but Eichel continues to be an elite option. A juicy 36 shots on goal over his last 10 games is a team-high and a level of production we should expect tonight. The matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs is a solid one, as they sit in the top half of the league for Total Shot Attempts Allowed per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations.
Tyler Seguin and the Dallas Stars are coming off a bit of an ugly loss to the Anaheim Ducks and need to bounce back against the lowly San Jose Sharks. Seguin started the year a bit slow but has turned things to a new level with 28 shots on goal over his last 10 games.
NHL DFS Lineup Picks Today, 11/20
Goalie Of The Day: David Rittich - LAK
David Rittich has a great salary, especially on FanDuel tonight, and shouldn't be as popular as some of the other goalie options. The Kings are solid on defense this year and allow just 2.09 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the seventh-best in the league.
He may not have a massive volume of saves but picking up the win looks good for Rittich against the Buffalo Sabres, who may still be without Tage Thompson.
Play Of The Day: Martin Necas - CAR
As noted above, Martin Necas is one of the hottest players in the league with 21 points and 27 shots on goal over his last 10 games. Necas sees time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit, both of which are solid options against a very bad Flyers' defense.
The Flyers sit in the bottom five of the league or worse in both Goals Allowed (3.12) and Total Shot Attempts Allowed (64.66), both per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. When we look at the Carolina Hurricanes' offense, they are on the opposite end of the offensive spectrum sitting in the top three of the league in Goals Scored (3.24) and Total Shot Attempts Created (71.74).
It's an elite matchup for the Hurricanes and it should make them a popular option in all formats.
Value Play Of The Day: Bobby McMann - TOR
The Toronto Maple Leafs are dealing with a number of injuries right now and it has pushed Bobby McMann to the top line and the second power-play unit.
We've also seen a solid increase in production for McMann, who comes in with a surprising 34 shots on goal over his last 10 games. He only had three goals and no assists, which isn't and insane amount, but the volume of shots and the increased offensive role are very strong.
Stack Of The Day: CAR L1/PP1 (Martin Necas, Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov) & DAL L2/PP2 (Matt Duchene, Tyler Seguin, Mason Marchment)
There are some really solid stacking options tonight and I'm a bit torn between Carolina and Dallas. The Hurricanes are an elite offense with an awesome matchup but this is a very expensive stack tonight.
Dallas doesn't have the same offensive output this season but they're going up against the Sharks, who we love to target any time they are on the slate. The Stars' stack is also just a touch less expensive, which can always help when it comes to lineup construction.
The one advantage that the Dallas stack brings is full correlation from the second forward line to the second power-play unit. All three players are on both, while the Canes have Aho and Svechnikov on the first forward line, with Necas on the second forward line. If you're running a three-max tonight, I'd get exposure to both, that's where I'll be.
