Published: Oct 10, 2024
Welcome into the NHL DFS Playbook everyone! Happy to be back in the swing of all things hockey this season again and tonight we have the first big time slate to dive into with 9 games dropping the puck! Check out my favorite plays below and let's go take down some contests together!
I'll be here throughout the season bringing the NHL DFS Picks and Playbook multiple times per week, along with the NHL Best Bets, which I hit 2 out of 3 in last night's action!
NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, October 10th
We keep things rolling with our NHL DFS picks for tonight's 9-game slate, featuring some of the best centers in the league.
All but 1 of the games have totals set at 6.5, so we should be in for plenty of scoring tonight. I am looking all over these games and I like many stacks and plays from high tier to low all the same!
NHL Pick 'Em At Sleeper Fantasy
Let's jump into some Sleeper Fantasy NHL picks for today before we head over to the DFS side of things.
Sleeper NHL Picks, Thursday, October 10th:
- Kirill Kaprizov More than 1.5 Points
- David Pastrnak More than 4.5 Shots
- Linus Ullmark More than 26.5 Saves
Kaprizov and the Wild get to start the season against one of the worst defensive teams in 2023 in the Blue Jackets. Expect the revamped Minnesota forward group to take full advantage 5 on 5 and on the powerplay, Kappy should eat tonight.
Pastrnak and the Bruins face a Montreal team that just played last night and were outshot 48-27 in the process. If the Bruins get to 35+ shots which they should easily than Pasta over 4.5 shots is a lock.
Linus Ullmark's first game for the Senators is tonight and he will have the challenge of taking on the defending Cup champ Florida Panthers. I don't expect the Sens to win the game but Ullmark is a top tier goalie and should see 30+ shots in this game with Ottawa's poor defense.
Thursday Salary Cap DFS Picks
Goalie Of The Day: Semyon Varlamov - NYI
The more things change the more they stay the same for the Islanders who always play defense first and out from there. Varlamov may be the backup goalie in name, but he had a better season that Sorokin last year and the veteran is no stranger to big performances. Utah should come back to earth tonight as well after their win against Chicago.
Play Of The Day: David Pastrnak - BOS
What can I say this guy is a stat machine year in and year out and he has played very well against the rival Canadiens over the years. In 29 career games against the Habs, Pastrnak has 18 goals and 20 assists and normally lights them up shooting overall. If Montreal gives up 40 shots again like they did last night they are toast and it'll be Pasta night for Boston.
Value Play Of The Day: Pavel Buchnevich - STL
You know I can't resist picking on the San Jose Sharks! The Blues are a frisky team this year and I like a select group of forwards moving from today to the future. They are all underpriced in my opinion, but Buchnevich is the biggest value to me as he will have free reign at the center position today against a weak Sharks team. He is the top line man and powerplay center, should put in major work tonight.
Stack Of The Day: MIN L1/PP1 (Kirill Kaprizov, Mat Zuccarello & Matt Boldy)
The Wild are going to score at least 3 goals tonight against this sad Blue Jackets team and the book makers agree as they have an implied goal total of over 4! This unit was great last season and with the number of shots the Blue Jackets are going to give up there's a great floor in this group as well.
