NHL DFS is a grind and sometimes you are reminded of that with a Tom Wilson sucker punch. The Oilers and Avalanche let us down big, but today is a new day. Let’s forget about Alexandar Georgiev having a 7.75 GAA and a .680 SV% and look for some positives. I’m not salty at all.

We have a 4-game slate on tap, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of good options to target. Multiple teams are playing the tail end of a back-to-back, so we could see some high-scoring games.

 

 


NHL Pick 'Em At Underdog Today

Before we get into DFS, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Underdog. There are many ways we try to fill your wallet here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option. 

Underdog NHL Picks, Sunday, October 13th:

I am ready to return to the Edmonton Oilers and get hurt again.

Stuart Skinner will need to play better if the Oilers are to get their first win of the season. Calgary isn’t a high-volume shot team, but considering how poorly Edmonton has played, I think they can get more shots on goal.

Edmonton’s power play is lethal and Evan Bouchard is still looking for his first point of the season. I like his chances of recording a point on the power play.

Remember prime Brent Burns? We might be seeing that we Mackenzie Weegar. He can rack up points, shoot the puck and also block shots. I expect Edmonton to come out with a lot of pressure and shoot from literally everywhere, so good chance Weegar blocks three shots before the second period is even over.

Goalie Of The Day: Ilya Samsonov - VGK

I do not love the thought of paying $8500 for Ilya Samsonov on DraftKings, but we can’t ignore just how good of a matchup he has. Anaheim is playing a back-to-back and are likely to roll out James Reimer. Vegas is a very good offensive team and I think they come away with the win. Samsonov needs the win in order to hit value.

 

Play Of The Day: Connor McDavid - EDM

I’m old enough to know that you shouldn’t bet against Connor McDavid. One point in two games isn’t going to cut it, but he’s the best player in the world and no one holds him to a higher standard than himself. A mad Connor is a productive Connor, so I’ll bite the bullet here and pay up for him.

 

Value Play Of The Day: Marco Rossi - MIN

Joel Eriksson-Ek isn’t on the team’s current seven game road trip, so Marco Rossi has moved up to the top line and is a cool $3700 tonight. Winnipeg is a tough matchup, but Rossi is in a great spot and he has a great chance of hitting value.

 

Stack Of The Day - VGK L1 (Ivan Barbashev, Jack Eichel, Mark Stone)

This isn’t my “favorite” stack of the day but it for sure is the one with the best value. Anaheim isn’t a great team and Vegas on home ice is lethal. Jack Eichel is the straw that stirs the drink and he looks like a player dedicated to leading his team in points. This whole line should be able to generate a ton of scoring chances.
