NHL DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups & Stacks Today: Saturday Playbook

Published: Mar 15, 2025
Welcome to another NHL DFS Playbook! We have another Saturday slate with eight matchups to break down. We have so much to go over and not a lot of time, so let’s jump right into things and look at where we need to focus our attention.
NHL Pick 'Em At Sleeper Today
Before we get into DFS, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Sleeper. There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.
Sleeper NHL Picks, Saturday, March 15th:
- Sam Reinhart O/2.5 SOG
- Quinn Hughes O/ 0.5 A
- Patrik Laine O/0.5 PPP
Sam Reinhart will forever be in this spot because his shot total remains too low. I know he isn’t someone who has a high shot volume, but his matchup on paper is good. Montreal gives up a lot of scoring chances, and Reinhart will continue to see important minutes when Matthew Tkachuk is out of the lineup. Just take the over and move on.
The Canucks are still in the hunt for a playoff spot and they have an elite matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks. There aren’t many players we can trust, but Quinn Hughes is always a good bet to contribute offensively. He’s had his share of injuries this season, but when healthy, you know he’s going to play a lot and be an offensive force.
When Patrik Laine is healthy and on the power play, it becomes impossible to slow him down. His shot volume has been very inconsistent this season, but Montreal is a better team when he is in the lineup and firing rockets from the left dot. Florida has a good penalty kill, but Laine is a beast with the man advantage, and he has 11 goals on home ice.
SALARY CAP DFS
Goalie Of The Day: Darcy Kuemper - LAK
When Darcy Kuemper is playing at home, it’s hard not to play him. The veteran netminder is coming off a 3-0 win against Washington and is 13-1-2 with a 1.88 GAA at home. The Nashville Predators are a horrendous team offensively and we can’t trust them to score goals. Kuemper is the best cash game option on the slate and it’s not even close.
Honourable Mention: Anthony Stolarz - TOR
The Ottawa Senators are a desperate hockey team that needs to win if they want to keep their playoff spot. Toronto hasn’t been great of late, but Anthony Stolarz has been good on home ice and he might get forgotten tonight. His price tag is more than I’d like to spend, but maybe that helps keep his ownership low.
Player Of The Day: Elias Pettersson - VAN
It has been a season to forget for Elias Pettersson. His points are down, he was beefing with a teammate, and his team may not make the playoffs. The good news is, we don’t care about any of that. He has 11 goals on home ice and has a matchup against the Blackhawks. This is a prime spot for him to rack up some points. He has four in the last three games and could add a few more to his total.
Honorable Mention: Zach Werenski - CBJ
We know how dominant the Columbus Blue Jackets and Zach Werenski are on home ice, but their matchup against the Rangers isn’t ideal. It’s hard to justify paying a premium for a defenceman that hasn’t been shooting as much over his last ten games, but the upside is to the moon. If you do want to spend up on him, you can, just be aware that he may not be able to hit value.
Value Play Of The Day: Adam Fox - NYR
Adam Fox was seen skating in practice with the top power play unit and looks ready to make a return to the lineup. DraftKings has him at $4500, which is too low for a player who can rack up points. At that price point, he doesn’t need to do much to hit value.
Honorable Mention: Yanni Gourde - TBL
Yanni Gourde was seen skating on the top line with Brayden Point and Jake Guentzel and if that sticks come gametime, we have a fantastic value play. The Lightning are mediocre on the road, but the Bruins don’t have a team that scares anyone. Gourde is listed at C, so that’s a bummer, but his value and upside is enough to consider him as a single-bullet in a GPP.
Stack Of The Day - MIN PP1 (Matt Boldy - Marco Rossi - Brock Faber)
Both Minnesota and St. Louis are horrendous on the penalty kill, so we can target this game for some value. The Blues are a below-average offence and I don’t want to trust them on the road, so we’ll focus our attention on the Wild. This might not be the best stack of the day, but it gives us the most value and that’s important. All three players are reasonably priced, giving you enough salary to find a good goalie and stack another good line.
