Welcome to the NFL Divisional Playoff Round DFS RB Coach article! Unfortunately, this is the last weekend of the 2024 season where we have two full days of NFL action to watch.

Although there’s only eight NFL teams still standing, there are a few NFL DFS RBs on their rosters that are worth using in your NFL DFS lineups this weekend.

NFL Divisional Round Playoff Round DFS RB Coach For FanDuel & DraftKings Fantasy

It might be a difficult task because of their high NFL DFS salaries, but if you can find a way to create at least one NFL DFS lineup that includes all three of the NFL DFS RBs featured in the Top-Tiers section of this article, then you should do it!

If you are a risk averse NFL DFS player, you’re probably better off paying up for your NFL DFS RBs this weekend.

NFL Divisional Round Playoff Round RBs

There are several NFL DFS RBs that I’m avoiding this NFL Divisional Playoff weekend, and I explain why later in this article. Some of the NFL DFS RBs that I’m fading might have potential value, and you might feel more comfortable using some of them than I do.

Whichever NFL DFS RBs you choose to include in our NFL DFS lineups, I wish you the best of luck and hope you earn some cash this weekend.

NFL DFS RB Top-Tier Picks For NFL Divisional Round Playoff Round

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB Detroit Lions - DraftKings: $7,700 | FanDuel: $8,900

Gibbs is my NFL DFS RB play of the week. With the way that he finished his 2024 regular season Gibbs probably can’t wait to hit the football field against the Washington Commanders this weekend.

Gibbs averaged just under 122 rushing yards per game (5.7 YPC) and just over four catches in his last three games of the season. He has a juicy matchup against the Commanders who gave up the fourth most rushing yards (1935, 4.9 YPC) and the second most rushing TDs (16) to NFL DFS RBs this season.

David Montgomery (MCL) is expected to be active for this weekend’s game. I’m not ready to use him in DFS lineups, but he and Gibbs were able to co-exist as productive NFL DFS RBs all season.

Derrick Henry, RB Baltimore Ravens - DraftKings: $8,000 | FanDuel: $9,600

Henry has proven to be matchup proof this season and as he’s done in the past, he seems to be gaining momentum as the season is progressing. Including last weekend, Henry is averaging just over 158 yards per game over his last four games.

He takes on the Buffalo Bills on Sunday evening and he ran all over them in Week 4 (199 rushing yards, 1 rushing TD, 1 receiving TD). As this article is being written there is no snow in the forecast for this game being played in Buffalo, but it will be brutally cold. That should not stop Henry from being an NFL DFS RB who is worth inserting into NFL DFS lineups despite his high salary.

Saquon Barkley, RB Philadelphia Eagles - DraftKings: $8,200 | FanDuel: $9,300

Barkley is another NFL DFS RB who is matchup proof. He had a monster game against the Los Angeles Rams, his weekend opponent, in Week 12. Barkley ran for 255 yards, scored two rushing TDs and added four catches for 47 yards.

The only negative thing I can say about Barkley is that he’s been guilty of keeping New York Giants owner John Mara up at night this season. You can confidently put him in your NFL DFS lineups this weekend.

NFL DFS RB Mid-Tier Pick For NFL Divisional Round Playoff Round

Joe Mixon, RB Houston Texans - DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $7,600

After being an NFL DFS RB that I suggested you avoid last week, Mixon might actually be usable this weekend. Mixon finished up the last four weeks of the regular season averaging just 10 carries per game and 3.23 YPC but he ran the ball 25 times for 106 yards (4.24 YPC) and scored a TD against the Los Angeles Chargers last weekend.

He has a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs who gave up the third fewest rushing yards (1,197, 3.78 YPC) to NFL DFS RBs this season. However, and I know this includes a Week 18 contest that they treated as if it were an exhibition game, the Chiefs gave up 4.21 YPC to NFL DFS RBs over their last three games of the season.

Mixon actually had modest success against the Chiefs in his other meeting against them in Week 16, rushing for 57 yards on 14 carries (4.07 YPC) and he recorded a catch for 14 yards in that game as well. Another stat that may cause you to be moderately optimistic about Mixon’s chances against the Chiefs is the fact that it’s a road game. In seven home games this season Mixon averaged just 2.9 YPC. In his eight road games he averaged 5.1 YPC.

NFL DFS RB Fades For NFL Divisional Round Playoff Round

I don’t think the Baltimore Ravens will completely shut down Buffalo Bills RB James Cook the way they did in Week 4, (9 carries for 39 yards) but they have consistently been tough on NFL DFS RBs all season long and I don’t think that will change this weekend, even though they’re playing on the road in Buffalo.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cook rush for 50 yards or so and possibly score a TD, but I can’t see him producing much more than that. Any yardage that Cook picks up against the Ravens this weekend it will be hard fought and well earned.

I can’t trust either of the Kansas City Chiefs’ NFL DFS RBs this weekend. Both Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco will be active against the Houston Texans, but when both have been on the field, they’ve split carries and canceled each other out.

From Week 13 to 16 when both were fully active Hunt averaged nine carries per game and Pacheco averaged just under 11 carries per game.

Los Angeles Rams NFL DFS RB Kyren Williams has a very tough road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Green Bay Packers NFL DFS RB Josh Jacobs had a good game against the Eagles last week (81 rushing yards, 4.5 YPC, 1 TD) but the Eagles still had one of the NFL’s better run defenses this season.

They gave up the seventh fewest rushing yards (1357) and the second fewest rushing TDs (5) to NFL DFS RBs this season. Williams rushed for 72 yards (4.50 YPC) and scored a TD in a Week 12 home game against the Eagles, but he’ll be playing in front of a hostile Philadelphia crowd and the forecast for Sunday’s game calls for the possibility of rain or snow.

The Eagles are a comfortable favorite in this game and if they jump out to a big early lead the Rams may be forced to abandon the run, and that would further limit Williams’ potential production. The Eagles might not completely keep Williams in check but like Cook, who I referred to earlier, he’s going to have to fight hard for every yard he gains this weekend.

Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. continued his late season collapse last week and is splitting carries with Austin Ekeler

The Detroit Lions are too tough against the run to trust Robinson Jr. or Ekeler this weekend.
