Rams vs. Eagles Predictions For NFL Wildcard Sunday
Despite being in different divisions, these teams have squared off twice over the last two years. Not only have the Eagles won both matchups but both matchups were also in Los Angeles. The Eagles won 23-14 last season and, earlier this year in November, they won 37-20.
The Rams defeated the Vikings in the Wild Card round as part of a run that has seen them win six of their last seven (with the lone loss being to the Seahawks in Week 18 when they rested starters).
Their last loss before that was the aforementioned game vs. the Eagles. The Eagles also rested their starters in Week 18 - outside of that game they have won 13 straight including last week over the Packers in the Wild Card round.
Los Angeles Rams: Highly Consolidated Offense
The Rams offense under Sean McVay has always been one of the most consolidated in the league. No coach has been more willing to use the same 11 players on such a high percentage of snaps, largely due to his “bellcow” running back approach.
The only two backs to average more than 80% of the snaps on the season were Jonathan Taylor at 80% and Kyren Williams at 87%. The passing game generally flows through both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp but, as of late, Kupp has fallen by the wayside with only five catches over the last four games.
The Rams' defense was always going to be a question mark with Aaron Donald retiring and the lack of money spent on that side of the ball. They did invest draft capital with five defensive rookies including key contributors Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, and Kamren Kinchens.
Even then, FTN Fanasy’s DVOA stat has them ranked as the 7th worst defense, the lowest among the remaining teams.
Philadelphia Eagles: Firing On All Cylinders
The Eagles have been set with pass-catchers for a while now with AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert. This year they decided to go out and make the big splash with Saquon Barkley at running back.
And it’s paid off handsomely as Barkley has lit the world on fire en route to a rare 2,000+ yard rushing season and an All-Pro nod. The truth is that all four of those weapons as well as Jalen Hurts are all Pro Bowl caliber players. And they have one of the league’s best offensive lines.
But that’s not all. We mentioned FTN Fantasy’s DVOA statistic, which attempts to account for strength of opponent among other metrics. They rank the Philadelphia Eagles as the top defense in the league.
We can split hairs about them vs. the Texans or Lions defense among the remaining defenses but there is no question that they have the advantage here against the Rams.
Rams vs. Eagles Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
As promised, the latest Rams vs. Eagles odds can be found below courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook:
- Point Spread: Los Angeles Rams +6 (-110) vs. Philadelphia Eagles -6 (-110)
- Money Line: Los Angeles Rams (+225) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-275)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 44 (-110) vs. Under 44 (-110)
Rams vs. Eagles: Cooper Kupp Over 39.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
I wanted to know what was going on with Cooper Kupp. There have been suspicions that maybe he suffered some kind of injury and he’s just playing through it, like a rib issue or a finger issue. And that may still be the case.
But I sat down recently to watch every single snap he’s played over the last five games going back to the 44-42 game vs. the Bills where he scored the go-ahead touchdown. Not only were there not any individual instances where it looked like he might have been injured or even shaken up, but he hasn’t looked any different on film.
He’s been going in motion, getting separation, and blocking hard like typical. The San Francisco game was a wash out and some of the other game scripts simply didn’t seem to go his way.
That’s why I find it hard to believe that a guy who was the WR5 in fantasy points per game through the first 14 weeks could just all of a sudden fall off a cliff.
I still think Cooper Kupp has the ability to make magic happen and he does have 29-yard receptions in each of his last two games. Even with a tough matchup here, I’m going with the over on 39.5 receiving yards for Cooper Kupp.

Player News
Dolphins signed No. 13 overall pick DT Kenneth Grant to a four-year contract.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Grant will sign his contract today. The former Michigan defensive tackle is expected to fill a major void left by Christian Wilkins, who left for the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. Grant totaled 32 tackles, three sacks, and seven TFLs in his final season at Michigan and excelled at stopping the run while also generating 27 pressures in his final season, per PFF.
Beat reporter John Hendrix reports that free agent WR Donovan Peoples-Jones is among the 16 players that the Saints will host for their rookie minicamp.
Peoples-Jones last played regular season snaps with the Lions back in 2023, when he caught 13-of-24 targets for 155 yards. He is highly unlikely to return to fantasy relevance at this point but could perhaps sign on as a special teams contributor.
Titans signed fourth-round pick WR Elic Ayomanor to a four-year contract.
Ayomanor will now begin learning behind Calvin Ridley. Although Ayomanor is unlikely to find a meaningful role in year one, dynasty managers should note his status as training camp gets underway this summer. The former Stanford receiver flashed big-play ability in his two college seasons.
Buccaneers signed seventh-round pick WR Tez Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson will serve as a rotational deep-threat option for Baker Mayfield. His thin frame (5'10/154) simply does not lend itself to the repeated hits one incurs in a full-time role. Johnson did earn 100-plus targets in his two seasons at Oregon, though. His big-play style make him a better fit in best ball for now, pending any major on-field breakthroughs.
Giants waived DT Casey Rogers.
Rogers was a 2024 undrafted free agent and logged 33 defensive snaps for the Giants in his rookie season. He is credited with zero tackles and/or sacks. He may find his way onto another roster as a practice squad option.
Vikings signed third-round pick WR Tai Felton to a four-year contract.
Felton is quietly in play to challenge Vikings No. 3 WR Jalen Nailor in training camp. Nailor (5'11/190) caught 28-of-42 targets for 414 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a starter last year, with the latter category buoying his fantasy productivity. Felton (6'1/183), meanwhile, caught 96-of-143 targets for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 2.32 yards per route run in his final college season. Fantasy managers should monitor Felton’s training camp reports this summer, as he could have a matchup-based WR5 role if everything falls into place.
