Texans vs. Lions Predictions For NFL Week 10, Sunday Night Football 11/10
Given these teams play in different conferences and neither team has ever been to the Super Bowl, they don’t play each other fairly often. In fact, as the Texans are an expansion team, these teams have only played five times in their history and twice over the last decade. The Lions won their first ever matchup in 2004, but the Lions have won the last four straight.
If the Chiefs are the hottest team in the AFC, the Lions are the hottest one in the NFC for sure. They now boast a 7-1 record and have won 6 straight. The Texans have had their bumps in the road including recent close losses to the Jets and Packers but maintain a 6-3 record and the top spot in the AFC South.
Houston Texans: Will Nico Collins Play?
There has been no formal announcement yet. But Nico Collins was activated off the IR and was spotted at Houston Texans practice today. The feelings have been optimistic that he will rejoin Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz to give a much-needed boost to the Texans pass game. The run game behind Joe Mixon has been stellar so that could be the missing piece.
The Texans' defense on the other hand has been great all year. Per FTN Fantasy, they actually rank second in DVOA behind only the Minnesota Vikings. They have been especially tough against the pass where they are allowing the third fewest passing yards per game of any team.
Detroit Lions: Making It Look Easy
The Detroit Lions have been cruising. They’ve been winning games handedly and busting out trick plays to the point where Packers Xavier McKinney accused them of trying to embarrass other teams. With the Lions two-headed rushing attack of David Montgomery and a pass-game led by an uber-efficient Jared Goff, it’s hard not to be embarrassed.
The Lions lost their best pass-rusher for the season in Aiden Hutchinson. But that has not stopped them from being the third ranked team in DVOA behind only the aforementioned Texans. They made a move at the trade deadline to acquire Za’Darius Smith in an attempt to regain some of the production lost from the Hutchinson injury. In the secondary, even if their corners have struggled at times, their safeties have been two of the best in the league to help make up for it.

Texans vs. Lions Predictions: Houston Texans +3.5 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
This one is close enough in theory that we’re willing to take the Texans at home with the points - especially at three with the hook. At the end of the day, the NFL is a matchup-based game and the Texans, in my opinion, match up well with the Lions.
Having Nico Collins back is crucial to this game but we’re willing to bet now that he will be active. The Lions play a ton of man-to-man which is going to put Carlton Davis and Terrion Arnold on Nico Collins and Tank Dell on the outside. Davis and Arnold have combined to allow nearly 800 yards in coverage which puts them among the worst pairings in the league. And Terrion Arnold ranks 2nd among all players in penalties with 9 for a league-leading 124 yards.
The Lions could certainly win this one. And maybe they are just so good that they will also embarrass a 6-3 Texans team atop the AFC South. But I think this one is going to end up closer than some people think. You can’t just run all over the Texans so Sam LaPorta but step up here or Amon-Ra St. Brown will have to a lot of heavy lifting.

Player News
Dolphins signed No. 13 overall pick DT Kenneth Grant to a four-year contract.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Grant will sign his contract today. The former Michigan defensive tackle is expected to fill a major void left by Christian Wilkins, who left for the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. Grant totaled 32 tackles, three sacks, and seven TFLs in his final season at Michigan and excelled at stopping the run while also generating 27 pressures in his final season, per PFF.
Beat reporter John Hendrix reports that free agent WR Donovan Peoples-Jones is among the 16 players that the Saints will host for their rookie minicamp.
Peoples-Jones last played regular season snaps with the Lions back in 2023, when he caught 13-of-24 targets for 155 yards. He is highly unlikely to return to fantasy relevance at this point but could perhaps sign on as a special teams contributor.
Titans signed fourth-round pick WR Elic Ayomanor to a four-year contract.
Ayomanor will now begin learning behind Calvin Ridley. Although Ayomanor is unlikely to find a meaningful role in year one, dynasty managers should note his status as training camp gets underway this summer. The former Stanford receiver flashed big-play ability in his two college seasons.
Buccaneers signed seventh-round pick WR Tez Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson will serve as a rotational deep-threat option for Baker Mayfield. His thin frame (5'10/154) simply does not lend itself to the repeated hits one incurs in a full-time role. Johnson did earn 100-plus targets in his two seasons at Oregon, though. His big-play style make him a better fit in best ball for now, pending any major on-field breakthroughs.
Giants waived DT Casey Rogers.
Rogers was a 2024 undrafted free agent and logged 33 defensive snaps for the Giants in his rookie season. He is credited with zero tackles and/or sacks. He may find his way onto another roster as a practice squad option.
Vikings signed third-round pick WR Tai Felton to a four-year contract.
Felton is quietly in play to challenge Vikings No. 3 WR Jalen Nailor in training camp. Nailor (5'11/190) caught 28-of-42 targets for 414 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a starter last year, with the latter category buoying his fantasy productivity. Felton (6'1/183), meanwhile, caught 96-of-143 targets for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 2.32 yards per route run in his final college season. Fantasy managers should monitor Felton’s training camp reports this summer, as he could have a matchup-based WR5 role if everything falls into place.
