Eagles vs. Ravens Predictions For NFL Week 13, Sunday Night Football 12/1

As I mentioned, these teams don’t face each other all that much. Like many teams in different conferences, they’ve only played every four years so the last two times they played were in 2020 and 2016. The Ravens won both in incredibly close games at 30-28 and 27-26. But those were obviously different teams then.

The Ravens have been hot, winning eight of their last ten. The two games they dropped were two of the most important ones, however, losing to the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns. The Eagles have also been great, winning seven straight. The last time they lost was to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in September.

Philadelphia Eagles: Saquon Barkley Renaissance

Evan Engram was labeled a bust with the New York Giants - with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year, he had the second most targets a tight end has ever had. And the narrative has been the same for Saquon Barkley, who has racked up nearly 500 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns over the last two weeks. If DeVonta Smith can get cleared for this game to join AJ Brown and Dallas Goedert, Jalen Hurts will be loaded with weapons for this key matchup.

On defense the Eagles have been fantastic. FTN Fantasy’s DVOA stat has them ranked as a top five team. They’ve been especially good against the pass where they are allowing only 175.5 pass yards per game, the third fewest of any team this season.

Baltimore Ravens: Derrick Henry Is King

The Ravens scored their own star running back in free agency this year. Saquon Barkley currently sits as the RB1 in fantasy football while King Henry is the RB2. On the passing side, Mark Andrews has seemingly gotten back up to speed while Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman are threads to make big plays at any time. It speaks to how good this team is that they haven’t really needed to utilize Diontae Johnson much despite trading for him.

On defense the Ravens have been great against the run but shaky against the pass. They have buttoned things up a bit as of late but are still allowing 277.7 yards per game through the air on average for the season. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars have been worse than that.

Eagles vs. Ravens: Philadelphia Eagles +3 (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)

Not only do we like taking the Eagles at +3 here but I’ll be sprinkling some money on the Eagles to win this one outright as well. At +130 over at BetMGM Sportsbook it’s worth it to take the underdog in a game that could go either way.

There is a bit of a misconception about how good the Ravens defense has been against the run. Teams have essentially been using passes to the backs as an extension of the run game to circumvent the stout defense up the middle. So, even though the Ravens are allowing the second fewest yards of any team on the ground, they allowed 5.25 receptions to running backs per game which is the sixth most of any team. Saquon Barkley is the perfect player to take advantage of that.

The Ravens are going to need Derrick Henry to truly play like a king here with a tough Eagles secondary. If the Eagles miss Darius Slay that could offer a little room for Zay Flowers and the crew but Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean have both been tremendous as well. To me, this game should be a lot closer to a pick em than it is so we’ll gladly take the points with the Eagles. Either way, it should be a great game.
