Best NFL Week 15 Player Prop Picks
Given that every team is on the gridiron this week, that means an actual full late afternoon slate rather than the lackluster three-game window that we’ve been seeing. That’s even with another Monday Night Football doubleheader, so we truly are in for a great weekend.
The matchups are also as important as ever with playoffs looming. While we’ve seen teams clinch and be eliminated, there is still so much up for grabs. Teams can have varying motivation in these spots, which is where NFL Week 15 player prop picks come in. Targeting individuals rather than the standard markets can prove to be more valuable.
Speaking of the larger late afternoon slate, that’s where our best NFL Week 15 player props are focused, so let’s dive in.
Steelers vs. Eagles Player Props: Russell Wilson Under 201.5 Passing Yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
Not only is the Steelers vs. Eagles game arguably the most anticipated following the early games, but this battle of the Keystone State is among the most anticipated of the entire Week 15 slate.
It’s also not just because these teams are in-state rivals, either. With Pittsburgh sitting at 10-3 and Philly sitting at 11-2, it’s also a matchup of two of the best teams in the NFL. Although the records certainly support that, they also haven’t been perfect, which means there are still flaws to exploit.
In that regard, we’re actually going to take advantage of a line oddsmakers are presenting us with. That would be for Steelers QB Russell Wilson, who will be facing an absolutely elite defense. The Eagles defense, especially against the pass, has been one of the most improved units in the entire NFL.
Along with Philly allowing the fewest total yards per game, they’re allowing the second-fewest passing yards per game. As for Wilson, fans and analysts have been enamored with him taking the reins, going 6-1 and looking the part. While that is certainly great, that now caused what we consider to be an inflated line.
Wilson also struggled quite a bit against the Cleveland Browns last Sunday, throwing for just 158 yards. Meanwhile, Philly has kept QBs under 200 passing yards in two of their past four games. Let’s also not gloss over the fact that Pittsburgh’s best WR George Pickens is not 100% and just missed last weekend’s game.
This should be a thrilling game to watch, but for our NFL Week 15 player prop picks, we’re starting them with Russell Wilson under 201.5 passing yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook).
Buccaneers vs. Chargers Player Props: Justin Herbert Over 227.5 Passing Yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
We’ve got a bit of a theme for our NFL Week 15 player props, as we’re targeting another QB. However, this time, in the more fun approach in terms of rooting for it. We’re looking for Chargers QB Justin Herbert to light it up through the air.
He was just a part of a low-scoring game against the Kansas City Chiefs, but that was to be expected. Now, he gets to face one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. Tampa has allowed the third-most passing yards per game this season, making it a great bounce-back spot for the Chargers following their loss to the Chiefs.
It’s also one that they certainly need, as the AFC Wild Card race is as heated as ever. Like Wilson, Herbet had to deal with his top target - WR Ladd McConkey - this past Sunday; however, rather than being a late scratch like Pickens, he is on a much better track to take the field this weekend.
Los Angeles was also plagued with a few key drops last Sunday, and while that will also be a concern, it’s one that we don’t expect to be nearly as much of an issue with such a great matchup. Furthermore, the Chargers will still be without starting RB JK Dobbins, putting even more of the responsibility on Herbert.
Therefore, we love Justin Herbert over 227.5 passing yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook) as an addition to our NFL Week 15 player prop picks.
