Rockets vs Warriors NBA DFS Picks For DraftKings & FanDuel - Fri, 5/2

Published: May 02, 2025
There's a short list of things better than hearing the words “Game 6” and if the Houston Rockets can go into Golden State and win Game 6, we'll here the only words better; “Game 7.” The Houston Rockets absolutely dominated Game 5 from pillar to post and it's time for the Warriors to respond. Can Stephen Curry shake Amen Thompson or will Thompson's defense disrupt Curry once again?
Let's dive into the NBA DFS Showdown Playbook for tonight's Rockets and Warriors NBA Playoffs Game 6 matchup.

Rockets vs. Warriors NBA DFS Showdown Picks: MVP & Captain
Jimmy Butler, Golden State Warriors - $15,900 DK, $20,100 FD
I'm all-in on Jimmy Butler as the captain. I think he's the better option between he and Curry and is significantly cheaper, especially on DraftKings as a captain. Butler basically has the same numbers as Curry this series averaging 1.2 FP/min and again, is much cheaper. He has a slightly easier life with the Dillon Brooks matchup as opposed to Curry being stalked by Amen Thompson.
Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors - $18,000 DK, $20,700 FD
It's hard for anyone to simply ignore Stephen Curry's fantasy upside and not consider him as a captain option. He hasn't had very good games in either of the last two, one of which was a blowout and he only played 23 minutes. That is somewhat the Amen Thompson impact defensively, so hopefully Curry can shake him here. He sits at a 28.7% USG and averages 1.2 FP/min this postseason (including the play-in).
Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets - $16,800 DK, $19,200 FD
It took a few games, but running everything through Alperen Sengun has worked like a charm. He's averaged a 28% USG and has 1.3 FP/min through five games. He's put up 47+ DKP in two straight games and in three of his four. After only notching one assist in Game 1, he has had at least four in every game since. Houston's size, including Sengun, has dominated the smaller Warriors front court.
Amen Thompson, Houston Rockets - $15,000 DK, $15,000 FD
Look, especially on FanDuel, if you believe that Amen Thompson can defend the Warriors like he did in Game 5, than he's an elite play. He is easily the one guy on this slate that can rack up steals and blocks and have an advantage on FD.
UTIL NBA DFS Showdown Plays For Friday
Brandin Podziemski - $8,200 DK, $8,200 FD
Two of the games for Brandin Podziemski can just be left out of our minds because he was sick in Game 2 and Game 5 was over after one quarter. In Games 1 and 4 he put up 36+ DKP and was great. That's the upside he has.
Fred VanVleet, Houston Rockets - $7,600 DK, $8,400 FD
After Alperen Sengun, the Rockets most consistent offensive option this series has been Fred VanVleet. VanVleet has poured in at least 17 points in three straight games as well as 28+ DKP in three straight. He's had a 20% USG in two of three and three of five in this series.
Dillon Brooks, Houston Rockets - $6,200 DK, $5,600 FD
Brooks doesn't have an insanely high ceiling, but he has a very safe floor if he can stay out of foul trouble. He's scored between 20 and 28 DKP in all five games this series and has shot the ball well from three.
Rockets vs. Warriors NBA DFS Picks: Dart Throws
- Buddy Hield, Golden State Warriors (if starting) - $3,800 DK, $5,000 FD

- Moses Moody, Golden State Warriors - $2,800 DK, $3,200 FD
