NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/3
 

Detroit Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets 3:30 PM ET: Cade Cunningham Over 6.5 Assists  (-148 on DraftKings Sportsbook) 

Cade Cunningham has been playing exceptionally well this season, although it’s not really being discussed. He has been both a scorer and a distributor, and has shown improvement from last year. Today the Pistons travel to New York to play against the Brooklyn Nets in the first game of the day.

The Brooklyn Nets are a bottom ten defense allowing 116.7 points per game. With Nets center Nic Claxton coming off the bench, Cade should be able to expose a smaller front court with assists to his center, Jalen Duren. Tim Hardaway has also been an efficient scorer this season and Cunningham could find him open in the game.

Cunningham has at least 6 assists in every game this season, and against a bottom ten defense should be able to create space for his teammates. As long as they make their field goals this should be an easy cover for Cunningham.


 

Atlanta Hawks vs. New Orleans Pelicans 7:00 PM ET: Trae Young Under 3.5 Threes Made (-130 Draftkings Sportsbook)

Trae Young is taking on responsibilities with Djounte Murray no longer with the team. However Jalen Johnson has been the most improved player on their roster, and he has an advantage over a bad defensive front court of the Pelicans. Trae Young should be looking for Johnson to lead the team in points today.

Young does average almost 40 minutes a game, which leaves plenty of opportunities for three point attempts. But he is still a pass first point guard, who finds mismatches to expose. He is averaging 11.7 assists per game which is the best in the Association. There should be several open spots for his teammates tonight in what is projected to be the highest scoring game of the season.

Young has only made 4 or more threes twice this season, and although they are underdogs they could be playing with a lead for much of this game. Put a unit on Young to have less than 4 made threes today.

Orlando Magic vs. Dallas Mavericks 7:30 PM ET: Luka Doncic ‘King of the Court’ Leader of combined Points+Rebounds+Assists (+200 on Draftkings Sportsbook)

Luka Doncic is the favorite to lead all teams in combined points, rebounds, assists, but even as the favorite the odds are +200. Without Paolo Banchero the Orlando Magic are going to rely on several three point field goals and tough defense to keep pace with the Dallas Mavericks. Doncic could benefit from both.

Doncic is playing at his usual MVP level, and it will be difficult for another player to match what should be a triple-double for him tonight. The real question is will it become a blowout? Doncic should be the leading rebounder of this game, and if the Magic play him tough tonight, he will have several assists. 

Can he make enough points be it from deep, from drives, or from free throws to be the leader? The prediction is for that to happen. Put a unit on what will be the best NBA player in action today for this 2 to 1 prop.
