NBA Best Bets Today, 11/24: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Sunday
Only one of the three bets were successful yesterday, care to guess which one? The Well, Nikola Vucevic came through for the third time this week with a positive odds player prop. The man makes threes like Curry used to.
Lauri Markkannen made 4 three's before halftime, but Karl-Anthony Towns had his worst offensive game of the season. He scored just 16 points, and went an unbelievably horrific 1-9 from the three point line. The thinking by Fantasy Alarm was correct, the execution by Towns was not.
The Los Angeles Lakers were absolutely destroyed by the Denver Nuggets, who were playing in back-to-back games. Nikola Jokic is simply the best basketball player to ever play the game, and betting against him is not smart. We will avoid that going forward.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/24
There are six games today, and plenty of players with data backing their props, and that is the direction of the Best Bets today. These three players would be havoc in a 3-on-3 game with a guard, forward, and a center rounding out our picks today.
Timberwolves vs Celtics Prediction: Anthony Edwards Over 3.5 Three's made (+100 on DraftKings Sportsbook) 2.0 U* Bet Of The Night
It might be surprising for some to know that earlier this season, Anthony Edwards was the leader in three points attempted per game. He is currently second behind LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets, which implies he’s still letting it fly from deep.
The Timberwolves are trying to make up for the 21.8 points per game vacated during the Karl-Anthony Towns trade. Edwards is either doing it by scheme or by necessity, and the statistics back it up.
Edwards is currently setting career best numbers in; minutes played (37.1), points per game (27.9), field goal percentage (47.5), and three point percentage (47.1). Meanwhile his assists per game is at his lowest since his rookie season (3.7).
He has 4 or more made threes in two of his last three games, and seven of his last nine games. He has six or more attempts in every one of those games, oftentimes with nine or more. Those numbers will not go down tonight either.
The Timberwolves are not as good as they were last year, or at least not yet. The Boston Celtics are as good as they were last year, if not better. The Celtics should be leading for most of the game tonight, and this will force Minnesota to attempt more threes, particularly Edwards.
The Celtics are 8-point favorites with a 221 point total. Edwards will likely have 10 or more threes attempted tonight, with a 47.1% success rate this prediction needs just under his average to be successful. Put a double unit hammer on this even odds player prop.
Wizards vs Pacers Prediction: Myles Turner Over 8.5 Rebounds (-125 on BetMGM)
There is a significant odds differential on Myles Turner’s rebounding line. ESPN, BET MGM, and BET365 all have him juiced to -125 or more. This line is still near even odds on DraftKings, and should be taken advantage of.
The other markets have his odds juiced for good reason, the Washington Wizards are still an awful rebounding team. Last year, until the sportsbooks caught up to us, it was an automatic bet to bet the over on whichever team’s center was playing the Wizards.
The Indiana Pacers are playing the Wizards today, and Washington allows the second most rebounds to opposing teams with 57.9 per game. Somehow that number goes up to 59.6 when Washington is playing on their own court at Capital One Arena. That is inexcusable, but is also the truth.
Myles Turner’s minutes have been increasing, and he has earned 9 rebounds in two of his last three games. Turner is joined by Jonas Valanciunas with the highest set line of 8.5 rebounds, and Turner has the juiced odds. The next highest Wizards rebounding line is Kyle Kuzma with 6.5. Turner should be the best rebounder on the court, every time he is on the court.
A second double-unit bet is suggested as Turner should earn 9 rebounds and possibly a double-double (+145) for those that bet boldly.
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 11/24
Sometimes an injury can give an advantage against a sportsbook’s algorithm. That is the case in our next pick that focuses on two teams that met twice in the NBA Finals of the previous decade. Some might say it’s an unofficial rivalry.
Mavericks vs Heat Prediction: P.J. Washington Over 14.5 Points (+105 on BetMGM)
The Dallas Mavericks have a deep and talented bench that was on display against the Denver Nuggets in their most recent game. Even without Luka Doncic they were able to outpace and outplay the Denver Nuggets on their way to a road victory.
They had several players step up and play multiple minutes including P.J. Washington. He played over 35 minutes and rewarded the Mavericks with excellent offense. He scored 22 points and made a couple crucial field goals late in the fourth quarter.
He attempted 15 field goals in the Mavericks first game without Luka Doncic, and is only asked to have that many points for this bet to be successful… it’s not adding up. We are ahead of the algorithm on this, and Washington should score at will against the Miami Heat.
Put a unit on Washington’s over 14.5 points.
