NBA Best Bets & Player Props December 13: Victor Wembanyama Set to Have a Big Night Against Lakers

Wednesday is here, and the big buzz will be around Draymond Green’s atrocious foul on Jusuf Nurkic last night. He will be suspended so keep an eye out for Jonathan Kuminga's props in the upcoming games, particularly when on the floor with Chris Paul.
There are nine wonderful games today, and most teams are playing with fresh legs. Two teams are playing in back-to-back games, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. The bet of the day looks to take advantage of the Lakers who are on the road and playing in the nationally televised game on NBATV. There are also two proposition bets in the Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks match. One on the over, and the other on the under.
There are three tightly contested predictions reflected on the moneyline, The LA Lakers at the San Antonio Spurs, The Atlanta Hawks at Toronto Raptors, and The Brooklyn Nets at the Phoenix Suns. If you feel confident in any of those teams, all spreads are within 2.5 points or less, depending on the sportsbook.
NBA Best Bets & Betting Picks December 13th
NBA Bet of the Night
Same Game Parlay, Victor Wembanyama 12+ Rebounds & 3+ Blocks (+230 at BetMGM)
This is not a complex same game parlay (SGP) compared to most. It is simply stating Victor Wembanyama will have an average game, although he could have an excellent one. He has three or more blocks in five of his last seven games, and the LA Lakers could trust their height against Wembanyama too much. He has 59 blocks on the season and three more are well within reach. The San Antonio Spurs have lost 17 games in a row…. SEVENTEEN! Wembanyama will need to control as many defensive rebounds as possible to limit the Lakers from getting easy points within the paint.
This is another nationally televised game for the Spurs, and it’s not the spotlight holding them back, it’s mental errors. Wembanyama should do his part and contribute stats across the board, but defensive rebounding will allow him to control the pace. He is an excellent rebounder, even more so when playing at home. He has 12 or more rebounds in his last four games and should earn that much or more easily tonight. These props alone do not have great odds, but combined are better than 1:2. This is a two-fold parlay on one person, trust the big man to go over the expected lines.
NBA Prop Bets of the Night
Brook Lopez, UNDER 6.5 Rebounds (-145 BetMGM)
Brook Lopez is one of the best centers of his generation and an excellent scorer. In fact he is much more of a threat as a scorer than a rebounder despite being 7’ 1” tall. He only averages five rebounds per game, ranked 50th amongst centers… There are only 30 teams in the NBA. He is an NBA Champion and was a foundational piece to the Bucks success, hence why he was a top priority to resign in the off-season.
However, he doesn’t have to rebound, because his teammate, Giannis Antetokounmpo, is one of the best rebounders in the league. Lopez has gone under 6.5 rebounds in six of his last seven games and has a combined seven rebounds in his last two games against the Indiana Pacers. A great bet against a familiar opponent with the under in play.
Myles Turner OVER 19.5 POINTS (-115 at DraftKings)
This bet is in the same game as before, the same position, but on a different team. Myles Turner has been playing well and excelling under Rick Carlisle’s coaching. He was a force throughout the In Season Tournament and most of the season. He has gone over this line in both games against the Milwaukee Bucks and this game shouldn’t be as an aggressive defensive game as it was in the In Season Tournament.
The total for the Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks is set at 259 points, which is 17.5 more than the next-highest total! There will be points tonight, and Myles Turner along with Tyrese Haliburton are the top scorers for the Pacers. B. Lopez spends a lot of time outside the paint, and M. Turner should get put-back points from offensive rebounds, but he can also make threes. He has made 29 this season and has a 31.5% three point percentage. The odds seem off on this line, so take advantage.

Player News
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reports Dylan Cardwell has agreed to a two-way deal with the Kings.
Cardwell has been an important piece for Auburn and will now be the second center that Sacramento added on draft night after they selected Maxime Raynaud in the second round. Cardwell couldn’t be a more different player from Raynaud. He finished in the paint well, but most of his impact was made on the defensive end. He’s also a decent passer for a big, even if the numbers don’t reflect it. He’ll compete to earn a spot in Sacramento, starting in Summer League in a couple weeks.
ESPN’s Shams Charania report RJ Luis Jr. has agreed to a two-way contract with the Jazz.
While St. John’s coach Rick Pitino loaded up on transfers ahead of his second season with the program, his best player was one of the few returnees. Luis, who played one season at UMass before transferring to St. John’s, was one of the best players in college basketball in 2024-25. In 35 games, he averaged 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers, shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 74.7 percent from the foul line. In addition to being named Big East Player of the Year, the versatile Luis was a consensus All-American. Luis will compete for a spot in the rotation on a Utah squad that is loaded with recent first-round picks.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reports Hunter Dickinson has agreed to a two-way contract with the Pelicans.
Dickinson spent three years at Michigan before transferring to Kansas for the last two, and he was a strong producer throughout his college career. He’s a big-bodied center with decent touch that can also pass the ball. He’ll get a chance to show that he deserves a spot in the NBA for the Birmingham Squadron, but it’s unlikely he cracks the rotation next season.
Mavericks signed undrafted free agent Miles Kelly to a two-way contract.
Kelly spent the first four seasons of his college career at Georgia Tech before transferring to Auburn. Helping lead the Tigers to the Final Four, he averaged 11.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game this past season. Kelly is an athletic guard who shot nearly 38 percent from three as a redshirt senior. He’s likely to spend considerable time in the G League this season.
HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reports Ryan Nembhard has agreed to a two-way contract with the Mavericks.
The younger brother of Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard, Ryan spent two seasons at Creighton before following in Andrew’s footsteps and transferring to Gonzaga. As a senior, the 6-foot point guard led the nation in assists, averaging 9.8 per game, while also accounting for 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.1 three-pointers. Nembhard averaged only 2.7 three-point attempts per game this past season, but the accuracy was there, as he shot 40.4 percent from beyond the arc. While the lack of size may lead to some overlooking him, Nembhard’s ability as a playmaker and improved perimeter shooter are what have put him on the NBA radar. There is certainly a chance Nembhard gets a chance to play early on in Dallas with Kyrie Irving (knee) sidelined to start the year.
Hawks signed Eli Ndiaye to a two-way contract.
On his 21st birthday, not long after the completion of the 2025 NBA Draft, Ndiaye agreed to a two-way deal. The 6-foot-8 forward most recently played for Real Madrid, where he played for teams that won consecutive Liga ACB titles. Ndiaye’s production was limited to begin his Real Madrid career, but he was the starting power forward for the team this season. While most of his time may be spent in the G League, Ndiaye’s upside makes him a player worth the risk for the Hawks.
