2023-24 Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Week 10: Trayce Jackson-Davis Seeing Expanded Role
While we know that the NBA season began over two months ago, there is nothing like the excitement of a full slate of Christmas action. Enjoying some of the best teams and players in an all day and night slate is one of the best regular days on the basketball calendar. However, that shouldn’t distract us from our normal process. Let’s take a look at some NBA Waiver Wire options I have my eye on. At the same time, don’t forget to take advantage of all of the other great tools we have here at Fantasy Alarm for the NBA season.
Trayce Jackson-Davis, Golden State Warriors, PF/C
The rookie has 19 games under his belt, but over the last four, Trayce Jackson-Davis has begun to see his role increase. Draymond Green being suspended certainly helps here, but the rookie’s performance has also warranted the role and volume that we are seeing. Jackson-Davis has reached double figures in each of those four games, scoring between 10 and 14 points, while averaging just over 10 rebounds per game. There is some clear upside here as Jackson-Davis continues to earn his run.
Aaron Nesmith, Indiana Pacers, SF/PF
Aaron Nesmith has been a strong source of offense for the Indiana Pacers off the bench. Of course, Nesmith saw an eight-game streak of scoring in double figures come to a screeching halt on Saturday as he scored just three points. That doesn’t change the fact that Nesmith is a strong source of offense who makes about two three-pointers per game. Factor un a few rebounds and about a steal and block per game, and Nesmith provides legitimate value at both forward positions in his 25 minutes of action per game off the bench.
Isaac Okoro, Cleveland Cavaliers, SG/SF
While it is not last man standing just yet, Isaac Okoro is benefitting from some injuries in Cleveland. The good news though, is that even without the injuries, namely Darius Garland’s jaw, Okoro was still good for around 20 minutes per game. Now though, as Okoro starts for the next for few weeks, we should see him closer to about 30 minutes of run per night. In a preview of what we can expect, Okoro has averaged 12.5 points since moving into the starting lineup with 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
Neemias Queta, Boston Celtics, C
This likely falls into more of a short lived, streaming, acquisition, but if Neemias Queta continues to play well, is Luke Kornet really good enough to keep him off the court? Following injuries to Kornet and Kristaps Porzingis (I know, shocking), Queta has seen his role increase. In two of his last three games, Queta has recorded a double-double averaging 12 points and 11 rebounds. Even if short lived, that production is worthy of some attention.
Reggie Jackson, Denver Nuggets, PG
Despite technically being a member of the second unit, Reggie Jackson has started in 14 of 31 games this season. The veteran continues to show scoring upside averaging 12.8 points per game while also flashing some offensive upside. Jackson is also working as a playmaker averaging 4.5 assists and making 1.5 three-pointers game. There are some games in which Jackson struggles with efficiency, but at 47.6% shooting from the field, the overall body of work is pretty strong from Jackson.
Dante Exum, Dallas Mavericks, PG
Starting for Dallas has does good things for Dante Exum’s value. In each of the last seven games, Exum has scored in double figures while only playing less than 27 minutes once. During that stretch, the guard is averaging 20.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. It is easy for Exum to blend into the Dallas backcourt, but this is production which is very difficult to ignore.
