Be sure to check out all of our tools including the MLB Lineups page, MLB DFS Projections – powered by FanJections – MLB DFS Ownership, and all of our tools HERE! Let’s dive into our favorite daily fantasy baseball value plays of the day.
MLB DFS Value Pitcher
Emerson Hancock, Seattle Mariners (DraftKings - $4,000, FanDuel - N/A)
This is a DraftKings play only because Emerson Hancock is not listed on FanDuel, but he’s just $4,000 on DK. Hancock has spent his entire campaign at Double-A and hasn’t been great, but he’s struck out 107 batters over 98 innings. He’s allowed just four earned runs over his previous four starts, so he’s coming into this contest potentially in his best form. The Padres are middle of the pack since the break against right-handed pitching since the All-Star break. Hancock is in play because of his price.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Triston Casas, Boston Red Sox (DraftKings - $3,900, FanDuel - $2,800)
Do you know what Jordan Lyles does a lot of? Allow home runs. He’s allowed 23 and 1.75 HR/9 this season. 13 of them, accompanied by a .515 SLG%, 2.02 HR/9, and a 37.9% hard-hit rate to left-handed bats. Well, Casas hits from the left side and has been tremendous lately. Since the All-Star break, Casas is hitting .348 with eight bombs across 22 games. He hit nine home runs in his first 77, by the way. He has a .240 ISO and .369 wOBA against right-handed pitching on the year.
Andrew Vaughn, Chicago White Sox (DraftKings - $3,400, FanDuel - $2,800)
*Writers note* Ian Hamilton is now starting for the Yankees and is serving as an opener. It’s expected that Luis Severino will work as the bulk reliever. It’s not confirmed that’s the case, however.
Vaughn’s been heating up of late hitting .324 over his last 10 games belting three homers over that span and two over his last four. He’s hit righties well this year notching a .183 ISO and a .331 wOBA. He draws a fantastic match-up against Luis Severino who can’t get anyone out these days. He’s allowed righties to post a .299 AVG, .234 ISO and a .389 wOBA. He also has a 9.38 ERA, .366 AVG and a .443 wOBA on the road and this game is being played in Chicago.
Jake Bauers, New York Yankees (DraftKings - $2,800, FanDuel - $2,700)
The Yankees have elected to lead Bauers off essentially every night at this point and Bauers has been pretty good of late. It’s mainly been in the power department notching a .521 SLG%, .804 OPS, .292 ISO, and .334 wOBA. He’s hit all of his 11 homers against righties along with an .830 OPS and .278 ISO. Baures is in a really good spot to get pitches to hit with Aaron Judge batting behind him in the lineup every day.
Michael Massey, Kansas City Royals (DraftKings - $2,700, FanDuel - $2,300)
For a guy so cheap, you would think he wouldn’t have so much upside, but here we are. Massey’s flashing a ton of upside in the power department lately, belting six bombs over his last 16 games. Over that same 16 game span, he posted a .286 AVG, .661 SLG%, .
375 ISO, and .417 wOBA. He faces Nick Pivetta who’s struggled with left-handed hitters this year allowing a .277 ISO and a .342 wOBA. The cherry on top is Massey has been hitting third and as a three-hitter he’s notched a 1.119 OPS this year.
