Rafael Devers Underdog MLB Picks Today, 4/3: Baseball Projections + More

It’s a very short Thursday MLB slate, but we still have plenty of opportunities to build our bankrolls on Underdog playing MLB DFS Pick ‘Em contests.
The slate is split with two early games, one mid-afternoon and two evening games, but with teams like the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles on the schedule, we should see some nice offensive outputs.
We also have some soft pitching in the form of Carlos Carrasco, Nestor Cortes and Charlie Morton on the bump, so this could get interesting for our MLB picks today.

Corbin Carroll MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Of course we’re going to pick on Carlos Carrasco. I don’t know how he’s even getting starts anymore. I get the Yankees are down a few arms because of injuries to Gerrit Cole and Luis Gil, but Carrasco? Come on.
The 38-year-old has been absolutely atrocious over the last two years, and he hasn’t been effective since the shortened season in 2020. Carroll has hit safely in four of six games this season and should have little to no trouble getting on-base and finding his way across the plate. Or driving in a run. Or just having a second hit. Either way you slice it, I’m in on Carroll tonight.
- Pick: 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Rafael Devers MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Given the press Devers has seen lately, a lot of people are going to avoid this play. But if you watched Devers’ last two at-bats Wednesday night, you may think otherwise, especially facing a tomato can like Charlie Morton. Devers knocked an RBI double in his third at-bat of the night and came back for his fourth at-bat looking like the Devers of old.
There was an air of confidence as if something just clicked and he knocked another base hit. Morton is not a formidable hurler anymore and if Devers is over his strikeout-laden start to the season, he should have no issues today. I understand if you want to fade this one, but I’m going to give it a shot.
Hunter Brown MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 17.5 Outs
We would have locked this pick down for Framber Valdez on Wednesday had it not been for such a rough start in the first and second inning for him. He got tagged for five early runs but then shut down his opponent for the next three innings.
Had it been further into the season they would have let him go another to help us cash. We’ll just come right back to it with Brown as the Twins are definitely a team struggling to find their offense. They may have woken up a bit against White Sox pitching but they’re going to struggle here, and Brown should lock them down for at least a quality start.
