MLB Weather Updates

Recommended DFS Starting Pitchers

Zack Wheeler, Philadelphia Phillies

Wheeler had another great year, posting a 3.61 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP with 212 Ks. I love this matchup against Miami as they have arguably the worst offense of any team that made the playoffs. I love the fact that Wheeler probably has the largest leash of any pitcher today. The Braves are a tough matchup, but Wheeler can shutdown any offense and he posted a very strong 3.32 ERA and 1.00 WHIP against the Braves this year across three starts (19 innings).

Honorable mention as sneaky cheap pick: Bobby Miller

Recommended DFS Hitters

Favorite Infielders

Trea Turner, Philadelphia Phillies

Turner had a strong end to the year from August on and ended up with a really nice season stat line with 26 home runs and 30 steals, despite an abysmal start to the year. He has a flare for the dramatics (as we saw in the WBC this year and in last season’s playoffs when he hit .333 with two home runs in four games). He has been great in the playoffs so far, scoring 20, 10, and 15 dk points by going 5-11 with FOUR steals.

Christian Walker, Arizona Diamondbacks

Walker had a great year, hitting .260 with 33 home runs, 12 steals, and 106 RBI. He has already performed very well in the playoffs too, already posting games of 22 and 15 dk points. While I do like Miller as a sneaky pitcher pick today, he is still a rookie and the Dbacks offense is in a great groove right now, so there is potential for Walker to keep the good times rollin’ today.

Honorable mention: Will Smith, Freddie Freeman, Alec Bohm, Gabriel Moreno

Favorite Outfielders

James Outman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Outman had a fantastic rookie campaign, hitting .247 with 23 home runs and 16 stolen bases. I love the upside he provides with both power and speed. I also love his cheap price tag. I am looking to spend-up in the infield today, which means having to find salary-savers in the outfield and I think Outman is one of the guys very much in play for that today.

Alek Thomas, Arizona Diamondbacks

Thomas wasn’t anything special during the regular season, but he did have 11 home runs and 9 steals in 385 at-bats, showing some upside in both departments. More importantly, he has balled out the last two games, scoring 14 and 20 dk points, homering in both outings. He is extremely cheap, and we are going to have to find some value plays, so why not ride the streaking Thomas.

Honorable mention: Ronald Acuna Jr., Cristian Pache, David Peralta
