MLB DFS Optimizer & Lineup Generator Today

In the playoffs, there will be some contradicting lineups. That said, at his price, Severino is still a better DFS option over either Padres-Dodgers starters or Cristopher Sanchez.

He's got two batters to worry about. He might allow a couple of other base runners. But after all, the Mets are typically good with allowing their starters to go deep in the playoffs. If Severino goes six innings and allows three runs with five or six strikeouts, and it's Schwarber/Harper that does damage, this mock lineup will do just fine.

MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Jack Flaherty, Los Angeles Dodgers

Jack Flaherty will take the ball for the Dodgers tonight. Flaherty has struggled over the last month against righties, giving up a .286 ISO and wOBA of .427 to his previous 43 righties.

That said, he's still struck out 31.6% of righties this season, and the only two righties he really needs to worry about are Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis.

Machado and Tatis Jr. have struck out at least 23.7% of the time against righties over the last month. So there's a good chance Flaherty can add strikeouts against those two. He could also pitch around them and likely be okay against other opponents in the Padres' lineup.

After all, Flaherty has held his last 46 lefties to a .111 ISO and wOBA of .213 over the previous month. He's also walked just 2.2% of lefties over the last 30 days. I think Flaherty is the best available pitching option via today's MLB DFS projections.

Luis Severino, New York Mets

Over the last 30 days, Luis Severino has struggled against lefties but has been dominant against righties.

The right-hander has held his last 66 righties to a .048 ISO and wOBA of .209 in the previous 30 days. He's also allowed just 14% of line drives to righties and has held those righties to 20.9% of fly balls.

Meanwhile, lefties have smacked a .292 ISO and wOBA of .455. He's not doing well against lefties. He's facing a Phillies lineup that should only have four lefties. He'll have tough battles against Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, but other than those two, there really aren't any other players that look analytically good against Severino.

If Severino can get by seven of the nine hitters in the Phillies' lineup, he's one of the best MLB DFS picks on the slate. I'd play him at his lower price - and still don't mind using Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in your lineup.

After all, the Dodgers-Padres games typically have higher scores and will likely yield more runs.

MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Hitters

Highest Expected Run Totals

MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Hitters

Bryce Harper, 1B, Kyle Schwarber, OF, Philadelphia Phillies

Schwarber has hit a .294 ISO and wOBA of .404 against his last 61 righties. He also hit a bullet for a home run yesterday on the second pitch he saw leading off for the Phillies.

Schwarber has hit more than 37% of fly balls against righties and 68.6% of hard contact over the last 30 days. He's also launched a team-best 28.6% barrel percentage against righties.

Meanwhile, Harper has hit a .288 ISO and woBA of .403 against his last 58 righties. He's also hit more than 35% of fly balls against righties and has added 51.4% of hard contact with a 13.5% barrel percentage.

Both will take on Luis Severino, who again has allowed a .292 ISO and wOBA of .455 against his last 53 lefties.

Shohei Ohtani, OF, Max Muncy, 3B, Los Angeles Dodgers

The Padres will throw Yu Darvish. He's a righty who has struggled against lefties since returning from an injury.

Darvish has allowed a .257 ISO and wOBA of .311 to his last 40 lefties. He's also allowed a 14.8% barrel percentage to his previous 40 lefties and has struck out only 20% of those batters.

Therefore, you will want to fit Shohei Ohtani into your lineup. Ohtani has a .403 ISO and wOBA of .546 against righties last month. He's also struck out below 20% of the time and has smoked more than 30% of line drives with 77.6% of hard contact and a 30.6% barrel percentage.

Meanwhile, Max Muncy has added a .167 ISO and wOBA of .379, with 13.8% strikeouts against righties. Muncy is patient and works the count. He'll walk a lot, but he's typically in a hitter's count, which should be ideal against Darvish. He'll take advantage of mistakes.

You'll see above how I was able to fit in Ohtani in my lineup. He's one of the best MLB DFS picks you can make today.

Fernando Tatis, OF Manny Machado, 3B, San Diego Padres

You can add all of the best players. But I still need to mention them.

If you're backing Jack Flaherty, you probably don't want to take Tatis Jr. and Machado. That said, these two could be in for a good game.

Flaherty has allowed a .286 ISO and wOBA of .427 to his last 43 righties. He's also allowed 60% of hard contact and has allowed 40% of fly balls with 28% of line drives. In addition, he's given up 40% of fly balls and has induced only 20% of ground balls against righties over the last month.

He's got a high strikeout rate, so that's ideal for Flaherty. But if Machado or Tatis connect, it could be trouble.

Tatis Jr. has a .375 ISO and a wOBA of .436, while Machado has launched a .264 ISO and a wOBA of .388.

Don't use these MLB DFS picks if you're backing Flaherty.
