Tigers vs. Astros Prediction, Game 2: Wednesday, October 2nd

Game 1 of this series went according to plan for the Tigers as Tarik Skubal did his thing and shut down the Astros offense. In my MLB best bets today though, I see some bouncing back for Houston and their offense! At home this season, Houston was one of the best teams in runs per game with 4.83 runs per game which was 5th highest in MLB!

They’ll avoid the Tigers ace too, of course, which helps, as they intend to go with an opener in Tyler Holton. The Tigers bullpen is better than league average but it’s a steep drop from what the Astros faced yesterday, and with that, I am taking the Astros to score over their team total today at 4.5 runs!

In addition to the offense overall, I like a few Astros bats today for my MLB predictions. One really sticks out to me and it's Kyle Tucker who entered this postseason hitting .429 with a 1.071 OPS over the last 5 days in September. He is a few years removed from his clutch hitting of the 2020 & 2021 postseasons, but this guy is still the catalyst to the offense, and if I am backing runs for Houston, it must come through Tucker.

He hit well against both lefty and righty pitching in his limited action this season too, so no matter what bullpen arm the Tigers throw out, he will be ready. I am going over on his 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs for my MLB best bets today!
