If you’re looking for the top MLB Best Bets and Props for today, we’ve got you covered here on Fantasy Alarm. While it may not be a full slate of games, Monday is loaded with some great games from which to choose.

The action gets started a little early today with the first pitch of a doubleheader between the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles being thrown at 12:05 PM ET. We’ll steer clear of those teams today as you never know who will be in and out of the lineup for that second game, and you all know how we feel about betting daytime baseball during weekdays.

Instead, we’ll check in with the latest Vegas lines and odds and focus more on the evening slate where we have some much more interesting pitchers like Zack Wheeler facing the Yankees, Logan Gibert taking on the Red Sox and Paul Skenes taking the mound against the Houston Astros.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 7/29

It’s been a week since I’ve posted here as I’ve been inundated with work for our Fantasy Football Draft Guide, but huge thanks to Josh Wagner for covering in style. My last article, Monday’s MLB Predictions, pushed us further into the black with a solid day.

The big game for us was the Reds vs. Braves action where Hunter Greene dominated for us while Reynaldo Lopez came up short on his strikeout prop as we expected. We turned a nice profit, and we look to keep it going here.

Just be on the lookout for last-minute MLB trade deadline action. The rug could get pulled out from under us at any moment, so we probably won’t play as heavy as usual.

Mariners vs. Red Sox Prediction: Monday, July 29

While I’ve never been a big fan of Boston’s Nick Pivetta, I’m not going to let a terrible outing at Coors Field deter my MLB best bets from taking advantage of this matchup against the Mariners. Seattle has made a couple of moves lately, like acquiring Randy Arozarena, but their starting lineup is dealing with a number of injuries and the backups are going to be front-and-center, meaning that 28.4-percent strikeout rate should be on full display.

On the other side is Logan Gilbert, who was victimized by some bad defense his last time out and still remains a dominant hurler. The Red Sox lineup is loaded with lefties, but Gilbert has done a masterful job of minimizing damage. His strikeout rate has been climbing again and the Sox are still sporting a 23.4-percent K-rate against righties for the season. They’ve hit well, but I think it takes a few turns through the order for them to get to Gilbert.

Rangers vs. Cardinals Prediction: Monday, July 29

I knew it would just be a matter of time before these Texas bats started to wake up, and while a .317 wOBA isn’t huge, it’s far better than how they closed out the first half. They aren’t striking out at all lately – K-rate is under 19-percent over the last seven days – and that plate discipline should push them ahead of Andre Pallante, the Cardinals starter, to round out today’s MLB picks.

The St. Louis bats, on the other hand, have been a little soft as trade rumors continue to swirl around some of their aging veterans. The strikeout prop of 4.5 for Nathan Eovaldi seems low, especially against a team that whiffs 23.1-percent of the time against righties. He’s gone over this mark in three of his last five starts, including a 10-strikeout performance his last time out.
