The MLB schedule for Thursday features nine games spread out throughout the afternoon and evening with a 3:40 PM ET start as Minnesota Twins pitching prospect David Festa makes his big-league debut against the Arizona Diamondbacks. From there, the pitching slate gets even more exciting with Corbin Burnes, Chris Sale and Shota Imanaga all on the mound today as well.

We’ll take a close look at all the latest Vegas odds and lines and see if we can’t come up with some key value bets and walk away winners.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/27

We’re ready to get back at it and keep rebuilding that bankroll as we noted during Tuesday’s MLB predictions. We enjoyed a profitable day leaning on some good prop bets, but it would have been even bigger had we not endured that postponement from the Braves vs. Cardinals game or had the Washington Nationals not blown a solid fifth-inning lead. But profit is still profit and we’re ready to keep that rolling today!

Cubs vs. Giants Prediction: Thursday, June 27

Cubs lefty Shota Imanaga is coming off his worst start of the season in which he allowed 10 runs over three innings to the New York Mets who have been riding the power wave created by Grimace from McDonald’s. It was so bad, they pushed him from Wednesday to today. Will that prove to be beneficial? Do the Giants have that same Grimace magic? They’ve been solid against lefties this season, posting a .332 wOBA, but they’ve really struggled as of late, posting just a .295 wOBA with a 23.5-percent strikeout rate.

Imanaga has had two really bad hiccups this season, but proved he could bounce back after that first one against the Brewers. He didn’t go deep into that next game, but he did allow only one earned run over 4.1 innings and the Cubs came away winners that day. Today’s MLB best bets are just looking for an early lead, and all the while, for the Cubs to knock around Jordan Hicks for a little while. Hicks, by the way, if you caught the most recent Fantasy Baseball Stock Watch, is about to have his innings capped or, at the least, limited.

Marlins vs. Phillies Prediction: Thursday, June 27

Even just a quick glance at the odds and lines on this game will tell you everything you want to know. Zack Wheeler has been dominant this season and we expect nothing less from him against a Marlins team that ranks dead-last in wOBA (.229) over the past week and is pushing a near-28-percent strikeout rate. They’ve been terrible against righties all year, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, especially when you see how juiced up some of his prop bets are.

On the other side, the Phillies get lefty Trevor Rogers who is coming off back-to-back quality starts, but has also been beaten up by these same Phillies earlier in the season. And now they’ve re-added Trea Turner to the lineup? My MLB picks today will take the heavy line here for the first part of the game. I just can’t imagine Rogers with his 4.90 ERA and 1.55 WHIP containing a lineup that has posted a .339 wOBA with a .166 ISO against southpaws this season.
