The end of a 3 day weekend is always bittersweet but guess what, only 3 days till Friday and its the first unofficial week of summer now! We have 15 MLB games to help distract us sports fans until the NBA and NHL Finals begin at the end of the week and this slate is a doozy. Still treading water on the young betting season for me as the Astro's Cristian Javier left me holding the bag against the Athletics. That one stings a bit but I am ready to get back on the horse for today's massive slate, let's go make some money!

MLB Best Bets for May 30

Atlanta Braves at Oakland Athletics

In the course of a baseball season even the worst teams in the league win games. The Athletics aren't going to finish with 30-40 wins it just doesn't work that way and last night the public lost a lot of money as the Braves lost on the road in Oakland. Now I'm not here to say they're going to win this game but I know that the Atlanta offense is one of the best to this point. They are scoring an average of 5.56 runs per game on the road, which is the 4th highest rate in the MLB this season. They were held to just 2 runs last night and while I am not a mathematician I know about the law of averages and for some reason the sportsbooks left their team total run prop at 4.5 runs tonight which is down from 5.5 runs yesterday. JP Sears will get the start for Oakland on the mound, he is not the worst pitcher in the world but he is in a bad spot and his 4.7 ERA is in danger of ballooning on him tonight. Give me the Braves to open it up in game 2 of this series on the west coast.

Pick: Atlanta Braves Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (-135 on DraftKings)

Colorado Rockies at Arizona Diamondbacks

The Diamondbacks continue to be one of the best stories this MLB season as they sit at 31-23 and in the hunt within the NL West. Leading the way have been many players but on the mound its been all about Zac Gallen and his 6-2 record through the opening 2 months of the season. Gallen has been a force at home this season with a 0.77 ERA over 35 innings of work with 5 wins and no losses. He has also struck out 47 over that span and is holding opponents to a .158 batting average, just nasty stuff. I fully expect the good times to keep rolling tonight against the Rockies as they score just 3.85 runs per game on the road this season and that's the 5th lowest rate in the MLB. For that I will take the Dbacks on the 1st 5 innings Run Line tonight to get the exposure to Gallen but were not stopping there. I am also getting some action on his strikeout prop tonight as it sits on 6.5 on the total. The starting pitcher has gone over that number in 4 of his 5 home starts and the time he went under he had 6 total strikeouts. Parlay them, play them straight either way I am all on board the Zac Gallen train tonight.

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks -0.5 1st 5 Innings (-120 on Bet365)

Pick: Zac Gallen Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-108 on Caesars)

Philadelphia Phillies at New York Mets

Between the Phillies and Mets neither team is having the start to the season they envisioned and much of it has to do with a lack of offense. The Mets sit at 4.5 runs scored per game and the Phillies sit at 4.28 runs per game and those numbers are 19th and 21st in the MLB. I say this because runs are at a premium most nights for these teams and the Phillies are sending out Ranger Suarez who is just gifting runs this season. Through 3 games he has allowed 12 earned runs on just 11 innings pitched for an ugly ERA of 9.82. His WHIP is also concerning as its at 2.0 right now with 17 total hits allowed in the 3 starts. There's also the fact that the Phillies are a dismal 11-18 on the road this season which doesn't inspire confidence. On the Mets side they will send out Kodai Senga who has enjoyed the home field this season with a 1.67 ERA and 29 strikeouts over 23 innings pitched. Give me the Mets in a simple wager tonight, just to win the game.

Pick: New York Mets Money Line (-130 on WynnBET)
