Hey hey everybody and welcome to Wednesday on the MLB best bets! This will be my last feature for the week but don't be sad, its because I am getting married this weekend! Super excited of course and will miss the daily wagering for a while but on the other side there will be an extra mouth to feed in the Wagner household so the betting will need to be that much better! Anyways, enjoy the rest of your weeks everyone, I know that I will and let's dive into today's best MLB bets shall we?

MLB Best Bets for August 16
Philadelphia Phillies at Toronto Blue Jays
Yesterday I took the game total to go over in this matchup and I got burned! Today is a new day though as two great pitchers are squaring off and it has me rethinking some things. Aaron Nola will go for the Phillies with his 4.49 ERA but that doesn't tell the whole story as recently the numbers are getting better except for a slip up a couple weeks ago against the Kansas City Royals. He should do well against a Blue Jays offense that has been rather inconsistent. On the other side of this game is Kevin Gausman and if you have read this article all season you know we love him with his 3.04 ERA and 183 strikeouts in 139 total innings pitched. Back to the run total though as I am going to fade the full game as the bullpens I don't fully trust so I will be wagering on the 1st 5 Innings to go under 4 runs and call it a day after that!
Pick: Phillies & Blue Jays 1st 5 Innings Under 4 Runs (-105 on DraftKings)
Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs
Another game in this series and I am coming right back on the Cubs for tonight's game as they just fell flat last night! The cross town rivalry is back this week as the White Sox and Cubs face off for the 4th time this season! The Cubs won two of hte meetings as they outscored the White Sox 17-10 over two games which is a lot of runs indeed. I expect much of the same from the Cubs tonight as they are one of the hottest offenses in baseball right now scoring 5.54 runs per game at home, the 4th highest rate in the MLB. The model has them projected at 5.01 tonight so a bit lower than the average and the books have them implied at around 4.9 but either way the line for their team total runs is currently at 4.5 on most sportsbooks.
Pick: Chicago Cubs Team Total Over 4.5 Runs (-110 on BetRivers)
Seattle Mariners at Kansas City Royals
The Seattle offense may be mediocre this season overall but they have for sure found their bats in Kansas City this week and they have 16 runs over the opening 2 games and are looking good in the final game of the series tonight! The Royals will go with a opener and a bullpen game which is already great news because their group is garbage and allows so many runs. Enter Julio Rodriguez who took some time to get going this season but is hitting .293 this month with a .849 OPS. He has gone over his prop line in hits, runs and RBIs in 8 of the last 10 games with multi hit outings, big RBIs games and more! Given the matchup I am ready to throw some money down on this young star and ride the wave he and the Mariners are on right now.
Pick: Julio Rodriguez Over 1.5 Hits/Runs/RBIs (-150 on DraftKings)
**all bets are one unit unless specifically mentioned.
