Julio Rodríguez hit a leadoff homer in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.
Julio Rodríguez is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays.
It’s the first day off this season for Rodríguez, who has started 20 consecutive games since Opening Day. The 24-year-old franchise cornerstone has hit a bit of a cold spell of late, batting .172 (5-for-29) with one RBI and one steal over his last seven games. He’s hitting just .179 with three homers, eight RBI and five steals on the year. It’ll be Luke Raley in center field on Saturday afternoon in his place.
Julio Rodríguez went 2-for-4 and scored a run as the Mariners triumphed over the Rangers on Sunday afternoon.
The Mariners’ leadoff man led off the sixth inning with a single and ultimately scored as Randy Arozarena was plunked by Nathan Eovaldi with the bases loaded. With his two-hit afternoon, the 24-year-old superstar outfielder is now slashing .210/.319/.435 with three homers, eight RBI and four stolen bases through his first 16 games on the season.
Julio Rodríguez tripled and scored twice while going 2-for-5 in a win over the Rangers on Saturday.
J-Rod showed off his impressive speed with his three-bagger, and that’s already the second of the season. He’s hitting just .190 in the first 15 games of the campaign, but the first tenth of the season has been more encouraging than disappointing; especially when you consider how much he struggled to begin 2024.
