Player News
Roddy White said he is keeping his options open and simply waiting on the right team to call him for playing a couple of more years.
The longtime Falcon is holding onto a dream that is likely to be a nightmare for the trusting fantasy owner. White had one TD during the 2015 season, and regardless of where he lands, if anywhere, that will more-than-likely be one more TD than he gets this season.
Rodddy White has been in contact with a few teams. He wants to play in 2016.
We heard Roddy White say last month that if he did not sign with a Super Bowl contender, he will retire. He had a terrible time in 2015 under Falcons' OC Kyle Shanahan and does not want to go out on that note. The 11-year veteran has 10,863 career receiving yards and 63 career touchdowns. You should not expect White to get anymore than a minimum deal.
If Roddy White doesn’t sign with a Super Bowl contender, he says he’ll retire.
There is speculation that White may join the Buccaneers, as he has history with Head coach Dirk Koetter and new offensive coordinator Mike Smith. The Bus are a rising team,b ut contending for a Super Bowl may be a bit grand in 2016.
Free-agent wide receiver Roddy White told reporter Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he is only interested in signing with a contending team or else he will choose retirement.
White was on the field for 82.2 percent of the Falcons snaps last season, but only caught 43 passes for 506 yards and a touchdown. Even if he does get a contract with a new team, he'll be playing in a secondary role.
