Brandon Weeden
Player News
Brandon Weeden will backup quarterback Brock Osweiler for Saturday's wild-card playoff game against Oakland.
This is a messy quarterback situation for the Texans, but with Tom Savage already ruled out due to a concussion, Weeden will be next in line if Osweiler gets injured. Both quarterbacks can be avoided in any playoff fantasy football formats fantasy owners are playing in.
Update: Brandon Weedens' contract with the Texans is worth $4 million over two-years.
After spending eight figures on their starting quarterback, $4 million seems like nothing for a backup. Like we stated earlier, Weeden has been extremely mediocre his entire career, but isn't that bad of a backup quarterback.
Texans have re-signed Brandon Weeden.
Weeden is being brought back to backup Brock Osweiler. Weeden's been nothing more than average during his four-year NFL career. He's thrown 31 touchdowns to 30 interceptions since arriving in the league.
Brandon Weeden is scheduled to meet with the Dolphins on Friday.
After spending his season in the state of Texas last year, a back-up quarterback could be on the move. Brandon Weeden who started games for both the Cowboys and the Texans in 2015 is meeting with the Dolphins about being their backup for the season ahead. In his career, Weeden has 31 touchdowns, but they are accompanied by 30 interceptions. His role in Miami would be clear behind Ryan Tannehill and could be in the offing soon.
