It is a shame that Hunter will not be in uniform next season, as he was a class act on and off the field. Good to see him go out after a mostly productive season with the Twins. Look for Hunter to be back in baseball in some capacity, perhaps after taking a year off from the daily grind.

There is no concrete decision about Torii Hunter and his future in the majors, but Sunday could be his final game. Hunter has 21 home runs and 81 RBI this year but his slash lines are well below his career averages. He is third in active players with 2,372 hits and tied for 97th all time.

Hunter continues to have himself a solid season in his return to the Twin Cities as he is now slashing .245/.299/.421 with 22 home runs, 76 RBI and 65 runs scored through 489 at-bats. At the age of 40 it is clear that he is on the back end of his career, but as long as he keeps hitting for power he is still a useful fantasy option nonetheless.

Hunter is swinging one of the hottest bats in the game right now. The 40-year-old veteran is batting a cool .405 (15-for-37) with three home runs and 11 RBI while putting up six multi-hit efforts during his current nine-game hitting streak.
