Do you want to learn how to swim away from the sharks? Play daily fantasy baseball over on Fantasy Aces and you’ll be able to start out, learn and win big money in a much more laid back atmosphere where each contest isn’t full of people who play DFS for a living.
So, the Rockies players are going to stay healthy all season, the Brewers won’t win a single game all season and the Braves aren’t nearly as bad as everybody thought. You have to love early season modesty and optimism in April but it can also get ridiculous at times.
The single most important thing that those who play fantasy baseball have to do is remain patient and committed to the plan. That is not to say there aren’t moves to be made after one week, its just that about 80% of what you think right now is going to look silly in just seven days. Don’t believe me? Check back here next week and we will review.
In the meantime, let’s run through another edition of the MLB Weekly Preview for MLB Week 2:

INTERLEAGUE OUTLOOK
The goal of every week in fantasy baseball is to maximize your potential output with each and every spot in your lineup. This is why these interleague games are so important as there are some real good AL bats that are forced to sit down for the majority of a week while some solid NL bench bats find themselves as useful fantasy players in a given week. This week it is Victor Martinez who will be forced to the bench as the Tigers visit the Pirates for a three game set. While there is little doubt that the Tigers will find a way to get V-Marts bat into games, he will have a lot less volume than he would in a normal week. I would strongly consider benching him in your seasonal leagues in favor of someone with a little more AB potential this week.
Here is the entire interleague play outline for MLB Week 2:
AWAY TEAM | HOME TEAM | # GAMES | DH? | PLAYER(S) IMPACTED |
Nationals | Red Sox | 3 | Yes | |
Tigers | Pirates | 3 | No | |
Mariners | Dodgers | 3 | No | |
Braves | Blue Jay | 3 | Yes |
STARTING PITCHER RANKINGS
Every week I will be posting my top 60 starting pitchers for this upcoming week in fantasy baseball. You will notice that I like two start pitchers a lot because of the added potential for wins and strikeouts. But you have to be careful not to use a fringe starter just because he is going twice as two bad outings could hurt your ERA & WHIP for weeks to come. This week Matt Harvey goes twice and is thus my top starting pitcher play of the week. I am also buying into the first starts of Shane Greene (a Ray Flowers favorite) and Drew Pomeranz (a Jeff Mans favorite) and not worrying about the poor efforts of Stephen Strasburg or Jon Lester last week.
Here are my top 60 starting pitchers for Week 2:
