I know I promised to start covering the preseason performances of defensive players, but after looking over the early results, I believe we will not have a good grasp on what is going on with IDP until we get through week 3 or so. So, you ask, what good is the IDP Report, Preseason Edition if you aren't going to give us guidance for our upcoming drafts? Glad you asked. How about my updated IDP rankings, going 50 deep at linebacker, defensive line and defensive back? Now, if you were wise enough to grab the 2014 Fantasy Alarm Draft Guide, you know that we included a set of IDP rankings there. Things change, however, and thus I have updated my IDP rankings based upon my projections of what players are going to do in the regular season, and those are based on my scoring parameters for my IDP leagues, which are as follows:
Solo Tackle (or Total Tackles) 1 point
Assisted tackle 1/2 point
Sack 4 points
Interception 6 points
Pass defended 1 point
Fumble forced 4 point
Fumble recovered 2 points
Safety 2 points
Blocked FG/PAT/Punt 6 points
All defensive TDs 6 points
From draft day through the championship game, the 2014 Fantasy Alarm Draft Guide has you covered! Get it PLUS the Guide & Assistant G.M. FREE with a new DraftKings account!!
If you happen to use a different scoring system, I would be glad to run it through my projection calculator and provide a personalized set of rankings. Just drop me a line at my e-mail address at the bottom of this post.

Unless you play in an incredibly deep IDP league, these tables should get you through most of your drafts. As I said above, I am willing to adjust my rankings based up your league's scoring settings. Like the difference between PPR and non-PPR leagues, a big play IDP setup has different rankings than a more standard league.
