The US Open 2025 Predictions

The US Open 2025 Predictions; The US Open One and Done Picks Featuring Jon Rahm

A previous U.S. Open champion, Rahm is a great one-and-done pick here. While he is yet to record a win in 2025, on the LIV tour and in the majors of 2025, he has not finished worse than T14th at the Masters. He’s coming off back-to-back T8ths, one at LIV Virginia and the other at the PGA  Championship.

Rahm has been solid all season, as he continues to be great with the driver, strong with the wedges and putter, and while his ball-striking has been the “worst” of his metrics, he’s also been fairly consistent with them.

We’ve also seen Rahm play the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, which is not something we can say for most in this field. While we don’t have strokes gained data for this event, we can see that Rahm finished T23rd at this event. He opened with a 6 over par 76, which he followed up by playing the remaining 3 rounds at just one over par, which was one of the better scores over the final three rounds of the event.  Given that there is just one more major in 2025, using a LIV player in this event seems like a smart move.

The US Open Free Picks Featuring Joaquin Niemann

Joaquin Niemann has been far and away the hottest golfer on the LIV Tour in 2025. Having made eight starts in that league, he has 4 wins under his belt this year. Not to mention his success over there, but he also has a T29th at the Masters and a T8th at the PGA Championship under his belt in 2025.

Niemann remains an excellent ball-striker, as he’s gained more than 2 strokes on the field in his last two starts, both on LIV and at the PGA. He remains a long hitter as well, as he has consistently gained distance on the field with the big stick without sacrificing accuracy. His wedge game has been mostly around neutral, though consistently has been in the plus side of neutral, and the putter has been strong as well overall.

Niemann feels like he’s really close to breaking through for that major win, and this may be the best Niemann we’ve ever seen. He’s going to be a name we see near the top of the leaderboard if this play continues.

The US Open Long Shot Pick: Min Woo Lee (+17000 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Min Woo Lee has certainly cooled off after his win at the Texas Children’s Houston Open. He finished 49th at the Masters, and this is his best finish since that win. That said, I believe Min Woo is going to surprise this week.

In his career playing in major championships, the U.S. Open has been his best event by far, with a T5th finish in 2023 and T21st in 2024. He is one of the longer hitters in the field; the putter can get red hot, especially on Poa Annua greens, which are featured this week, and they don’t call him Dr. Chipinski for nothing. He fits the longshot criteria for the week, but if his game is on, he’s exactly the type of player that can excel at this type of event.

Min Woo Lee+17000+1600+650+280+160-115

Jon Rahm (+1200): Rahm's odds reflect his strong major history, including a 2021 US Open win and a T-8 at the 2025 PGA Championship. His +225 for Top 5 and +110 for Top 10 suggest a high likelihood of contending.

Joaquin Niemann (+3300): Niemann's odds improved slightly from +3500 to +3300, likely due to his driving distance advantage at Oakmont and recent major form (T-14 at Masters, T-8 at PGA). His -105 over Morikawa head-to-head is a popular pick.

Min Woo Lee (+17000): Lee's longshot odds align with his high-risk, high-reward profile. His +850 Top 10 prop at DraftKings is noted as a sleeper pick, given his three straight strong US Open finishes (T-5, T-21, T-27).
