The Vegas Golden Knights and the Dallas Stars go head-to-head in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Despite Dallas being the favorites to win this series, we can find a ton of value on the Vegas side. This game is likely to be close, so we’ll need to target good-value players that can produce even if they don’t find the scoresheet. You can build daily fantasy hockey lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo Fantasy for Friday, May 19th, but before you build those NHL daily fantasy lineups, don’t forget to check out our NHL DFS projections, the NHL Value Finder, and the NHL DFS lineup generator. Let's now take a closer look at the daily fantasy hockey top plays for tonight's NHL DFS Showdown slate.

Highest Expected Goal Totals

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Jake Oettinger: (2.9)

Dallas Stars vs. Adin Hill: (2.7)

Dallas Stars Vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Players to target: Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Miro Heiskanen, Wyatt Johnston, Adin Hill, Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, Jonathan Marchessault Chandler Stephenson, Alex Pietrangelo, Alec Martinez.

The total for this game opened at 5.5 and should stay at that number as we approach puck drop. I don’t expect to see a ton of goals scored in this game, so that means that we can target a goalie for the CPT spot. Adin Hill was great against Edmonton and he can easily carry that strong play into Game 1. If you don’t want to go down the goalie route, Joe Pavelski and Jonatha Marchessault are two players to consider. Pavelski doesn’t shoot the puck as much as Marchessault, but he’s always around the net and is really good at redirecting pucks for goals.

As for the rest of our lineup, we need to target value. Wyatt Johnston and Chandler Stephenson are two depth players that won’t break the bank. They both have offensive upside and are seeing a healthy amount of minutes. You could argue that Max Domi could be a good option, but I don’t want to pay the extra $600 for a player that is a pass-first kind of guy. On the Vegas side, Jack Eichel and Mark Stone are expensive, but they are worth every dollar. Eichel is going to be shooting the puck a healthy amount and that means he has a good chance of hitting value without having to register a point. If you don’t want to play Stone, you could go with Alex Pietrangelo. He’s going to be logging a ton of minutes and that could lead to shots on goal and blocked shots. Alec Martinez also has some appeal, but the Stars aren’t a team that shoots the puck a ton, so even for an elite shot blocker, his upside is limited.
