NHL DFS Playbook January 10th
Recommended DFS Starting Goalies
Top Options for Saves
Cayden Primeau vs Philadelphia Flyers
Jesper Wallstedt vs Dallas Stars
Adin Hill / Vegas Goalie vs Colorado Avalanche
Best Odds for a Win
Scott Wedgewood vs Minnesota Wild
Samuel Ersson vs Montreal Canadiens
Alexandar Georgiev vs Vegas Golden Knights
Favorite Goalies to Use for DFS Lineups
Adin Hill, G, Vegas Golden Knights
I'm going to take the path less traveled today in this small 3 game slate and be contrarian on the goalies! Adin Hill isn't even confirmed yet by the way but this really applies to any of the Vegas netminders for tonight are road underdogs. Colorado shoots the puck at an alarming rate, 33.8 times per game at home over the past 30 days to be exact. They are an offense that is scary I get that but the Vegas defense surely can't go on allowing 4+ goals per game, they just aren't built that way. I think they hold their own tonight in a big time matchup and a crazy high ceiling for the goalie that starts.
Cayden Primeau, Montreal Canadiens
This play is purely a fade the Flyers at all costs right now so don't think I am jumping on the Habs bandwagon Chris Morais. The Flyers at home the past month are scoring just 2.2 goals per game but are posting 36.2 shots and that's a fantastic couple of trends for a DFS goalie. The Flyers are in shambles, it was only a matter of time honestly but let's kick them while they are down and get some Habs love going because let's face it Primeau isn't Jake Allen at least.
Recommended DFS Skaters
Highest Expected Goal Totals
Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild (3.75)
Colorado Avalanche vs Vegas Golden Knights (3.7)
Philadelphia Flyers vs Montreal Canadiens (3.38)
Favorite Skaters to Use for DFS Lineups
Jack Eichel, C, Vegas Golden Knights
Huge game for the Golden Knights and Eichel tonight against Colorado and believe it or not I am siding on the Vegas side of spending up at center. Nathan MacKinnon is an animal I know but Eichel seems to have the better matchup and is coming off a 34.4 DFS performance against the Islanders.
Travis Konecny, W, Philadelphia Flyers
Montreal is allowing the 4th most DFS points to right wingers this season and Konecny is the only Flyers player going right now worth a damn. Over the past 5 outings he has 26 shots on goal and 7 points, he is the entire offense right now, I am not joking. The team around him is falling but its too good a matchup to ignore.
Tyler Seguin, W, Dallas Stars
Seguin always seems underpriced to me in DFS and when he is rolling like he is right now its a free square in your lineups. In the last 5 games he has 8 points and 3 outings of over 20+ DFS points and tonight is another great chance to stack some stats against a Wild team allowing the 7th most DFS points to right wingers on the season.
Thomas Harley, D, Dallas Stars
With Miro Heiskanen out for the time being its next man up for the Stars and that man right now is Harley. He has moved into the top powerplay unit and has 2 points in the last 2 games thus far running that role. The Stars are going to pummel this Wild team that is just having a awful unlucky of a season right now so let's jump on this play.

Player News
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters that Zach Eflin (lat) is likely to return and start Sunday against the Angels
It was assumed that Eflin would be back this weekend, but now we have a concrete date. The 31-year-old may not be at full strength after throwing fewer than 60 pitches in his rehab start, but the Orioles feel confident enough to have the right-hander back on the bump for the series finale against the Angels.
Riley Greene is not in the lineup for the first game of a doubleheader against the Rockies on Thursday.
Greene will get a break and likely return to the lineup for the second game of the twin-billing. Zach McKinstry will get the start in left field while Greene rests.
Panthers released TE Jordan Matthews.
Matthews converted to tight end a few years ago and hasn’t made much noise at the position. The change has, however, likely kept him in the league for a few more seasons. He appeared in four games with the Panthers last year but didn’t record any stats on offense. The Panthers also released or waived WR Dax Milne, C Andrew Raym, and TE Colin Granger.
Yu Darvish (elbow) is facing live hitters on Thursday.
Darvish has been throwing bullpen sessions and traveled to the team’s complex in Arizona to face live hitters on Thursday. It will be his first time facing live batters since a spring training appearance on March 13th. He will likely need a few sessions like this before the Padres can map out a rehab appearance timeline for him.
Adael Amador is starting at second base and batting ninth for the Rockies on Thursday.
Amador has now started three of the last four games at second base for the Rockies. He’s gone just 7-for-43 this season with 15 strikeouts in 16 games. He’s just 22 years old, so there is plenty of time for him to adjust to the MLB level, but he doesn’t need to be on redraft radars right now.
Jackson Holliday is playing second base and batting second for the Orioles on Thursday against the Twins.
With Cedric Mullins sitting out on Thursday, Gunnar Henderson will bat lead off, and Holliday will jump up from sixth in the order to second. Holliday is riding a hot streak right now, and the Orioles are taking advantage. This is likely just a one-game sample with no Mullins or Adley Rutschman in the lineup, but Rutschman has been struggling, so perhaps it could become a more permanent spot in the lineup for Holliday moving forward.
