Welcome to our NHL DFS picks for tonight's nine-game slate, which should feature plenty of scoring!

There are four key teams with implied goal totals of 3.4 or higher, led by some of the best offensive players in the league.

NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, December 19th

I think we're in for a truly awesome slate of games tonight and there are several viable teams to stack for NHL DFS picks.

Personally, these are my ideal-sized slates. We have enough top-tier options to build around, pivots, and then plenty of value options to mix and match into lineup builds.

NHL DFS Pick'em Picks On Sleeper Fantasy

Brayden Point and the Tampa Bay Lightning have a 3.7 implied goal total and are on fire offensively right now. They have scored four goals or more in five of their last six games. Brayden Points has a staggering 21 points over his last 10 games, which shouldn't be a surprise when he plays alongside Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guentzel

Nico Hischier and the New Jersey Devils should be very popular tonight considering their soft matchup against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hischier has 28 shots on goal over his last 10 games while seeing time on the first forward line and the first power-play unit. The Blue Jackets allow the 11th most (27.52) shots on goal per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations since the start of December.

Rasmus Andersson is a consistent option in both fantasy and betting, so let's turn to him over 2.5 shots on goal tonight. A solid 25 shots in his last 10 games should continue tonight with the Calgary Flames offense producing 61.37 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations since the start of December, putting them as the seventh-highest in the league. A solid matchup versus the Ottawa Senators should enable plenty of back-and-forth action.

Thursday Salary Cap DFS Picks

Goalie Of The Day: Andrei Vasilevskiy - TBL

The Tampa Bay Lightning are rolling right now and come in as heavy -225 moneyline favorites tonight against the St. Louis Blues. Vasy has allowed two goals or fewer in three of his last five starts, a rate that should continue tonight since the Blues are scoring a paltry 1.77 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations since the start of December, which is tied for the worst in the league.

He doesn't always pile up a ton of saves, but the win equity is really strong with Vasy. If you're looking for a less expensive option, I'll be turning to Linus Ullmark, who has been downright awesome for the Ottawa Senators recently.

Play Of The Day: Jack Hughes - NJD

We have a slate that features Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid, and Nikita Kucherov, but I'm loving Jack Hughes today. This is not to say those players aren't great options or I won't have them in my lineups, but with Hughes at his salary and matchup, he's the play of the day.

Hughes is less expensive than all of those players on both FanDuel and DraftKings while having an equally great/better matchup versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets have been a disaster on defense recently, allowing four goals or more in four of their last five games.

Over the last 10 games, Hughes has 16 points and 41 shots on goal, MacKinnon has 15 points and 46 shots on goal, McDavid has 19 points and 28 shots on goal, and Kucherov has 18 points and 24 shots on goal.

At the end of the day, we're splitting hairs on all of these great players. I'll take the least expensive of the bunch and build around him.

Value Play Of The Day: Michael Bunting - PIT

While the Pittsburgh Penguins might be an average team in the grand scheme of things, they have been playing better recently compared to the start of the season.

Michael Bunting is still only $3K on DraftKings while seeing time on the second forward line and the first power-play unit. He comes in with 9 points and 27 shots on goal over his last 10 games, which is an awesome level of production for someone in his salary range.

A solid matchup against the Nashville Predators, who have allowed 59.64 Total Shot Attempts per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations since the start of December, which is the 11th-worst in the league.

Stack Of The Day: COL PP1 (Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, Cale Makar, Valeri Nichushkin)

The Colorado Avalanche have a whopping 4.1 implied goal total on the road tonight when they are set to take on the San Jose Sharks. This is a tale as old as time in NHL DFS, the Avs versus a weak defense.

Yes, this stack is very expensive and there are a few variations of which player to stack based on how much salary you have available. If you can only go with three of the four, that's fine, but ultimately, any combo will be in a great spot. Since the start of December, the Sharks have allowed 3.67 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the third-worst in the league.

For the Avs offense, they are scoring 2.95 Goals in the same situations since the start of December, which is the fifth-best in the league.

If you don't have the salary available for COL PP1, I would also consider New Jersey Devils PP1 or Tampa Bay Lightning L1.
