NHL Pick 'Em At Underdog Today
Before we get into DFS, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Underdog. There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.
Underdog NHL Picks, Tuesday, November 5th
- Cale Makar O/0.5 PPP
- Juraj Slafkovsky O/1.5 SOG
- Ilya Sorokin U/28.5 SV
The Colroado Avalanche may not be able to defend, but they can score goals on the power play. They are at home against the Kraken, so this is a great spot for Makar to do some damage.
Jurai Slafkovsky doesn’t shoot the puck a ton, but he’s the shooter on his line and is on the top power play unit. He’s gone over this total in the last three games, so we’re banking on him keeping that streak alive.
Ilya Sorokin is an elite goalie and the Islanders are exceptional at defending on home ice. They can’t score goals, but they don’t give up shots. They are allowing just 22.4 shots on goal at home. Yeah, that’s not a type.
The Penguins aren’t an elite hockey team and even if they do get some looks, it doesn’t mean they will finish as shots on target. This line also moved from 27.5 to 28.5. Maybe I’m missing something here, but this seems like a no-brainer.
NHL DFS Lineup Picks Today, 11/5
Goalie Of The Day: Justus Annunen - COL
JUST LISTEN TO ME! I know, a Colorado goalie as the “Goalie Of The Day” is a choice, but the Seattle Kraken are trashed. They obliterated Montreal 8-2 and have since scored just ONE GOAL in three games. I know it’s risky and $8200 on DraftKings feels like a lot, but we could get Justus Annunen at low ownership on a massive slate. Just trust, FAm.
Play Of The Day: Cale Makar - COL
As you can see, I’m a big fan of Colorado tonight. Cale Makar is just built differently. He can rack up points and plays a ton of minutes, so this is a great spot for him. You can use him as part of a stack or as a single bullet in all formats.
Value Play Of The Day: Quinn Hughes - VAN
When we talk about “value” plays, we usually look to players who are cheaper and playing important minutes, but tonight, we are going down a different route. Quinn Hughes is a great player, but he’s slightly underpriced on DK.
On the road, he is averaging a point per game and over five shots on goal. The shot volume is quite a jump from his average at home this season (2.8 SOG/GM). I don’t know why he likes to shoot the puck away from home, but we will take it against a terrible Anaheim team.
Stack Of The Day - WPG PP (Nikolaj Ehlers - Kyle Connor - Josh Morrissey)
The Winnipeg Jets are 11-1-0 and have the best power play in the league at 44.1%. Utah is decent on the penalty kill, but that doesn’t matter. You could stack the expensive COL PP or go with a slightly cheaper option that has been crushing it all season.
