NHL DFS Picks, Projections, Lineups & Predictions Today: Thursday Playbook

Published: Feb 06, 2025
Welcome to another Playbook and more NHL DFS picks! We have a loaded nine-game slate with a lot of projected low-scoring games.
That doesn’t mean we won’t see action, but we need to make sure we are getting the most bang for our buck. Finding value is going to be key, so let’s dive into the action and look at which players we need to keep an eye on.
NHL DFS Picks & Daily Fantasy Playbook Today, February 6th
Before we get into DFS, let’s make some pick’em picks for the night over on Sleeper.
There are lots of ways we try to fill your wallet over here at Fantasy Alarm and this is just another option.
NHL Pick 'Em Picks On Sleeper Fantasy Today
- Matvei Michkov U/0.5 P
- Filip Hronek O/1.5 SOG
- Matthew Knies O/0.5 P
Remember when Matvei Michkov was racking up goals and was an early favorite to win Rookie of The Year? Well, those days are gone. The kid has struggled to find the back of the net over the last few weeks and has just three points in the last ten games. The Capitals are a great defensive team, and they should be able to limit the Flyers and Michkov.
Quinn Hughes is once again out of the lineup, so Filip Hronek is going to get a massive boost. He’s on the top power play unit and has a great matchup against the San Jose Sharks. His shot total is too low considering the opportunity he is getting.
Matthew Knies seems to have found a home on the top line. Mitch Marner is questionable to play tonight, but even if he does, Knies is going to continue to get opportunities to rack up points. He has ten points in the last ten games and could easily find the scoresheet tonight.
Thursday Salary Cap DFS Picks
Goalie Of The Day: Thatcher Demko - VAN
I know it hasn’t been good for Thatcher Demko this season, but he’s coming off a 3-0 win against the Colorado Avalanche and has a date with San Jose. The Sharks can’t score goals, and I don’t see that changing tonight. Demko has just one win on the road this season, but I’ll gladly take a chance on him tonight in cash games and hope he adds another to his total.
Honourable Mention: Anthony Stolarz - TOR
Anthony Stolarz is back from injury and is confirmed to get the start for Toronto. He might be a little rusty after missing so much time, but Seattle’s offence really doesn’t scare me. His $7700 price tag on DraftKings is also very appealing. He’s probably more of a GPP play, but you could use him in any format.
Player Of The Day: Zach Werenski - CBJ
Zach Werenski is probable to play tonight, so you’ll have to check his status before lock, but if he does play, make sure he is in your lineup. He has 41 points in 25 home games while averaging just over four shots per game. When he is on home ice, no one can stop him. We also get Werenski at $7500 on DK, which is criminal.
Honorable Mention: Sam Reinhart - FLA
Did Sam Reinhart become terrible? Why is he $6900 (nice) on DK? Did the Blues become an elite defensive hockey team? Maybe I’m missing something, but Reinhart is a full go on DK at that price tag. He’s shooting 25% on the road and I like his chances of finding the back of the net in this one.
Value Play Of The Day: Gage Goncalves - TBL
The Tampa Bay Lightning are dealing with some injuries and their lines have been shuffled around. Gage Goncalves is expected to stake on the second line with Brandon Hagel and Jake Guentzel while also seeing time on the second power play unit. He’s $2500 and is in a great spot against Ottawa. You could do a lot worse at this price point.
Honorable Mention: Cam Atkinson - TBL
I was having a hard time deciding between Goncalves and Cam Atkison, so I decided to just have both in the playbook. Atkinson is expected to skate on the top line with Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov, so his ceiling is quite high tonight.
He isn’t seeing any power play time, and I don’t know how much ice time he will see considering he usually plays only eight minutes a game. He’s a risky play, but paired with Goncalves in a GPP, you’ll have a ton of salary left over to pay up for multiple superstars.
Stack Of The Day - VAN PP1 (Jake DeBrrusk - Elias Pettersson - Brock Boeser)
This is an excellent spot for the Canucks, and they need to produce. Elias Pettersson needs to step up and get back to the level that saw him finish with over 100 points. Jake DeBrusk and Brock Boeser are both players who can find the back of the net. All three play together on the top power play unit, so I want to see goals, assists and a lot of shots. Don’t let me down.
