NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/26

Colorado Avalanche vs New Jersey Devils Prediction

We have a battle of two outstanding hockey teams this afternoon. The Avalanche have lost 3 in a row, but they are still one of the better teams in the league. The Devils continue to rack up wins —now up to seven in a row —and are showing no signs of slowing down.

The Devils' winning streak will come to an end at some point, but it’s not today. They are clicking on the power play and are averaging 3.88 goals per game. Jake Allen has stepped into the starter’s role and has looked really good. Scott Wedgewood is expected to get this game off, and Trent Miner is nothing to write home about. New Jersey has cleared the Puck Line in 5 straight games, but we’ll play it a bit safe and take them to win in regulation.

Goalie of The Day: Igor Shesterkin - NYR

Can someone from DraftKings please explain to me why Igor Shesterkin is $7100 tonight against Calgary? I know the Rangers are losing and can’t score, but Igor has a 1.86 GAA and a .930 SV% and faces the Flames, who are LAST in the NHL in goals per game. Maybe this is a trap, but I’m getting on the boat and going down with it.

Player of The Day: Macklin Celebrini - SJ

I am here for all the Macklin Celebrini points. The Sharks are terrible defensively, but at least the Sharks can (sometimes) put the puck in the back of the net. This road trip has not been kind to the boys, but Celebrini is doing his part, racking up 7 points in the last three games. The Wild can’t defend, and their penalty kill is a mess. This game has the highest total, and we could see the Over hit before the second period ends. Lock in Celebrini and move on.

Honourable mention: Matt Boldy - MIN

Did I mention that the San Jose Sharks are bad at hockey? Both their goalies are allowing over four goals per game, so we can’t ignore the Wild. Kirill Kaprizov has been very streaky to start the year, but when he’s good, he’s out of this world. The matchup on paper is beyond elite, so if you’re going to pay up for a superstar, it’s him.

Value Play of The Day: Ryan Donato - CHI

Don’t look now, but Ryan Donato has five goals in the last four games. He’s shooting 25% this season, which we all know is unsustainable, but DK refuses to increase his price tag, so we might as well keep plugging him into our lineups. You can use him as a single bullet in GPPs to help you save some salary.
