NHL Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 6/01
Rangers vs. Panthers Prediction
As we get ready for Game 6 and a potential elimination game to clinch a Stanley Cup Finals appearance, I can’t help but be in awe of the Florida Panthers over the past 3 seasons. From winning the President’s Trophy to making it to the Finals last season it’s been one hell of a ride that I expect to continue tonight.
The odds aren’t favorable tonight in Sunrise, Florida and I can understand why as the Panthers have dominated most of this series when it comes to scoring chances and possession but sometimes you must take the lines you are given. The Panthers are the better team at this juncture and there are many stats to back that up from expected goals per game to their special teams play but the real reason is that they are just deeper, faster and more experienced than the Rangers. I expect Igor Shesterkin to give them a fight in net but at the end of the night it’ll be the Panthers that move on after they cash this bet on the Money Line.
Pick: Florida Panthers Money Line (-160 on BetMGM)
Edmonton Oilers vs. Dallas Stars Prediction - 6/02
While I am predicting the end of the series in the Eastern Conference I don’t think Game 6 in the West will tell the end of tale here as the Stars are a very good team and I see this series getting pushed to a Game 7.
Stuart Skinner is the main reason why I feel this way as he has played 2 very good games in the net for the Oilers but his personal history tells me that he is due for a slip up. This postseason he holds a SV% of just .890 and his expected goals saved mark is the lowest of the 4 goaltenders left in these playoffs. Its an even 0 which is fine but over 15 games you’d want your goalie to be much higher than that mark. The Stars are also no slouch as I believe them to be the deeper team even without Connor McDavid and with their backs against the wall they should be up for the challenge of winning this Game 6 so give me the Stars on the Money Line this Sunday.
PICK: Dallas Stars Money Line (+120 on BetMGM)
