Welcome into NHL player projections central for the season on Underdog Fantasy! Player projections are becoming one of the hottest growing things in hockey over the past few seasons and I have definitely taken notice as it adds yet another layer to a great game experience. Throughout this season you will find picks offered on the Underdog site that I find the most appealing as there are many to choose from so that's why I'm here to help you sift through the options.

For today's slate, we have 13 games on tap around the NHL and plenty of options for player props! I have highlighted a trio of plays that I will be following tonight that includes 3 players around the league for the Anaheim Ducks, New York Islanders and Detroit Red Wings! Good luck to everyone on the plays tonight, let's win some cheddar!

NHL Underdog Fantasy Top Picks December 5

Frank Vatrano, Anaheim Ducks - HIGHER than 3.0 Shots On Goal

Everything always comes back to Franky V in this article it seems like, I just can't quit him! This is especially the case in great matchups too and against the Chicago Blackhawks its a smash spot for the Ducks forwards. Chicago allows the 6th most shots per game this season at 32.42 per game and Vatrano has topped 3 shots on goal in 13 of 21 games this season with a handful of pushes. He doesn't cost you money often and I don't think he will tonight in this spot.

Mathew Barzal, New York Islanders - HIGHER than 3.0 Shots on Goal

It took the kid awhile to get going this season but look out NHL cause Barzal is buzzing around again! This might also be the first Islanders play in this article all season but when you're playing the Columbus Blue Jackets you make the article. The Jackets allow the 3rd most shots per game this season, 33.26 to be exact and Barzal has topped 3 or more shots in 9 of 17 games this season. He has also collected 15 shots in his last 5 games so the number is dead on but I think he pushes higher tonight.

Dylan Larkin, Detroit Red Wings - HIGHER than 3.5 Shots on Goal

Larkin has been back for around a week now and he is back to making teams pay! He has topped 3.5 shots in 5 straight games and in 7 of the past 10 averaging 4.4 shots per outing. Playing against the Sharks is a layup this season too as they allow the most shots per game in the NHL at 37.38! He's going higher tonight no doubt.
