NFL DFS Week 12 Main Slate Watch List: Top DraftKings Picks & Top FanDuel Picks

Published: Nov 25, 2023
And just like that, we're back to our research with another main slate coming up for NFL Week 12. The article and Watch List below will be focused on the Sunday games. If you are looking for Thursday action, there will be a special NFL DFS Playbook for the Thanksgiving Day three-game slate. We will also have a separate DFS Showdown write-up for the Miami Dolphins/New York Jets game being played on Black Friday. All the plays you need to succeed will be readily available and all of that content will be out in plenty of time to build your winning DFS lineups. Now, I know we've been focused on roster construction this past week and that was a huge boost to many of you. Just keep in mind that short slates like the one we will have Thursday have a much different strategy than for contests on the Sunday main slate. Shorter slates tend to push you into a few more dart-throws than you would probably like but you have to find different ways to separate yourself from the herd. But all of that will be discussed in that Playbook. For our purposes here, we've made the necessary adjustments to improve on our GPP tournament lineups, we've continued to crush it in our cash games and we are ready to follow that upward trajectory!
Yet another big DFS week for the #FAmily and with that brings a new wave of new subscribers, so as always, I would like to welcome all of you. I love seeing all the new screen names in Discord and seeing all of these new sign-ups for the All-Pro package makes me very happy, so before we fully dive in to the NFL DFS Week 8 Watch List, please allow me to welcome all of the new members of the Fantasy Alarm #FAmily. There are a lot of you and we thank you for joining. Now it's up to us to help you cash consistently on your NFL DFS action and we are psyched to make that happen. Since you are new to the Watch List, allow me to share some thoughts real quick:
“If you give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. If you teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime.”
We take this adage to heart when it comes to playing NFL DFS. The Fantasy Alarm Playbook isn’t just about handing you a list of players and a lineup to use each week. It is designed to help you learn to be a better DFS player. It’s about teaching you the process used in selecting which players to scout and, eventually, which ones to use.
Therefore, we will begin each week with the Weekly NFL DFS Watch List which is designed to keep tabs on marquee names, chalk plays and, of course, the weekly bargains who may not see the same coverage and exposure. This piece will be continuously updated throughout the week, based on the most recent news and injuries, which means you may see a name or two removed as we get closer to Sunday kick-off. You may also see a few late-week additions who pique our interest for some reason too, and by the end of the week, this Watch List will eventually become your Playbook. Again, it’s about teaching you the process.
So what exactly did last week's Playbook deliver? As always, we like to check in to ensure we remain on the right path.
Scoring The Playbook Week 11

Well, our 2-TE strategy comes up short this week with massively disappointing performances by Sam LaPorta and Cole Kmet, but we definitely hit in a number of areas where the masses avoided. First and foremost, the Trevor Lawrence/Calvin Ridley pairing was a huge hit. We stacked them along with either Christian Kirk or Evan Engram, which obviously didn't work, nor did our correlation with either Tyjae Spears or Kyle Philips. We had DeAndre Hopkins in the Playbook so that was the call, but we tried to stay invested in other games so the salary didn't work for us on that front. Another strong takeaway was the pay-down at running back. That continues to work for us, so we'll keep an eye out on that RB value during our research. Nothing we can do about NFL injuries. We got burned by Aaron Jones leaving early and many of you also got tagged by the De'Von Achane exit as well. It happens. We move on. Overall, though, we improved on our GPP scores overall, so the extra work with Dan Malin and Jon Impemba on lineup construction paid off. With a similar effort this week, I think we've got it!
Now let's get to who we're watching for the NFL Week 12 DFS Main Slate!
Pos (Click to sort ascending) | Player (Click to sort ascending) | Matchup (Click to sort ascending) | DK (Click to sort ascending) | FD (Click to sort ascending) |
---|---|---|---|---|
QB | Josh Allen | BUF @ PHI Sun 4:25 | 8100 | 9200 |
While some may scoff at Allen's great performance last week because it came against the Jets, you have to give him props. He threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns against the fifth-best pass defense in the league and he looked good while doing it. The switch from Ken Dorsey to Joe Brady at offensive coordinator should continue to resonate with Allen in a positive manner and this match-up against an Eagles defense that ranks 19th in DVOA against the pass and allows the fifth-most passing yards per game should allow him to continue on tis upward trajectory. The Eagles have also allowed 21 passing touchdowns, which is the third-most in the league. If you're paying up, this is the way. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Partly sunny | ||||
QB | C.J. Stroud | JAC @ HOU Sun 1:00 | 7700 | 7700 |
Yes, we would obviously like the Week 9 version of Stroud, or even the guy who threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of last week, but please do not give us the Week 11 second-half Stroud who couldn't help but throw a handful of picks and little else. It's another home start which is very encouraging and it comes against a Jaguars team that is stout against the run and soft against the pass. The Jaguars are allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game, they've allowed 16 touchdowns through the air and they've allowed the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. If the Jags can build off last week's momentum, this one could turn into a second-half track meet. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
QB | Matthew Stafford | LA @ ARI Sun 4:05 | 6300 | 6900 |
Tell you what – even though Stafford only threw for 190 yards with one touchdown and one interception in his first game back last week, I didn't hate the performance. You had to expect a but of a struggle given the nature of his injury (sprained UCL near the wrist) and the fact that Seattle has Devin Witherspoon and Jamaal Adams running around the defensive backfield, but there were also some encouraging moments as well. This week, he gets a much softer opponent in the Cardinals whose defense ranks 29th in DVOA against the pass. Stafford threw for 226 yards and one score against Arizona back in Week 6 which wasn't ideal, but with Kyren Williams potentially being eased back in, perhaps Sean McVay has Stafford sling th rock a little more this time around. Of course, we're going to have to watch the injury to Cooper Kupp, but there are still receiving weapons beyond him. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Mostly cloudy | ||||
QB | Gardner Minshew | KC @ LV Sun 4:25 | 5100 | 6700 |
While I've never been a big Minshew guy, this match-up against the Bucs is one that can turn my head a little more than usual. Tampa Bay's secondary has been terrible lately and they are now giving up the second-most passing yards per game with 16 touchdowns through the air on the season. Brock Purdy had a perfect passer-rating against them last week and save for one game where Will Levis tanked, the Bucs have coughed up a ton of yards and touchdowns over the last six weeks. Their run defense remains top-notch, so look for Minshew to take it to the air a lot more often this week. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||
QB | Bryce Young | CAR @ TEN Sun 1:00 | 4900 | 6600 |
How about a dart-throw? I know Young has been terrible during his rookie campaign, but this Titans secondary just ,might be the cure for what ails all. Trevor Lawrence destroyed them last week and while Young is no Lawrence, he's got the receiving weapons to put some points on the board. Tennessee ranks 24th against the pass and while they haven't allowed a ton of yards through the air, opposing quarterbacks have posted a 100.7 passer-rating against them which is the highest of anyone in the league. For this kind of a discount, it just might be worth a GPP lineup. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
RB | Travis Etienne | JAC @ HOU Sun 1:00 | 7100 | 8600 |
He's on the cover for a reason, people! We love to target against the Texans with our running backs and while James Conner didn't exactly light it up this past week, we know the versatile Jaguars running back is explosive. Houston is only allowing 96.5 rushing yards per game but they've allowed 12 rushing touchdowns on the season and they rank 27th in DVOA against running back pass plays. He hasn't found the end zone since the Jags had their bye week (2 weeks ago), so in the spirit of just having some fun, I'll say – he's due! No, seriously, he is and I expect a very strong performance from him this week. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
RB | Kyren Williams | LA @ ARI Sun 4:05 | 6600 | 8200 |
He's baaaaaaack! Or at least that's what Rams coach Sean McVay is saying. Williams spent the last four weeks on IR with a high-ankle sprain but should be getting back to business this week with a soft match-up against Arizona. The Cardinals are allowing the seventh-most rushing yards per game, the second-most fantasy points per game to the running back position and have coughed up 15 rushing touchdowns which is…you guessed it…second-most in the league. If Williams is on the field with no restrictions, you can feel comfortable locking him into your lineup. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Mostly cloudy | ||||
RB | Rachaad White | TB @ IND Sun 1:00 | 6100 | 7000 |
It's been a little while since I've been fully in on White for the DFS Playbook and while he's been a solid back, particularly in the pass-catching realm, I've always been hesitant because he still has kind of a low floor. But this match-up against the Colts plays into what we want to do this week. In addition to the Colts allowing the eighth-most rushing yards per game, the fourth most fantasy points per game to running backs and 15 rushing touchdowns this season, they.ve also allowed close to 40 receiving yards per game to running back pass-plays. He's a little on the pricey side, but should provide a strong return value with this match-up. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
RB | Jaylen Warren | PIT @ CIN Sun 1:00 | 5400 | 6900 |
Some people might be a little nervous that the Steelers have fired Matt Canada and current running backs coach and interim OC is a big fan of Najee Harris, Warren should retain his role as the lead back in this offense. His versatility adds another dimension to the offense and Mike Tomlin gave his stamp of approval for the demotion of Harris anyway. Both could actually eat in this game as the Bengals run defense is allowing the second-most rushing yards per game and ranks 30th in DVOA. I love this price over on DraftKings, so make a note of him as we hunt for pay-downs at the position which seems to be a strong way to go based on past optimal lineups. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
RB | Rhamondre Stevenson | NE @ NYG Sun 1:00 | 5800 | 6800 |
Here's another outstanding price for a pay-down running back and with the Patriots still up in the air regarding who will be the starting quarterback, we are expecting a heavy lean on the rushing attack. Stevenson did have a bit of a back issue and left Sunday's game for a bit, but he returned to finish the day with 20 carries and tests have come back negative for him. He's good to go and I love him facing the Giants, a team that is allowing the fourth-most rushing yards and a league-high 17 rushing touchdowns. Load him up! Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
RB | Jerome Ford | CLE @ DEN Sun 4:05 | 5600 | 6700 |
Ford may have split carries evenly with Kareem Hunt last week against the Steelers, but he saw three red-zone rushes to Hunt's one and he found the end zone for his third touchdown on the season. We also love the fact that he is active in the passing game. He saw five targets to three for Hunt and while the production through the air was minimal, he still produced a solid floor for his DFS owners. Fo whatever reason, FanDuel still has him priced up as if he's not sharing the backfield, but this price on DK makes him a terrific spend down as his work in the passing game helps keep that floor up n a full-point PPR scoring format. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
WR | Stefon Diggs | NE @ NYG Sun 1:00 | 8800 | 8700 |
Fortunately for you, Diggs doesn't drop passes like the receivers from Kansas City which keeps him in a great spot against the Eagles this week. We addressed the softness of the Eagles secondary up above in the Josh Allen section, so no real reason to repeat myself. What I love most is that Joe Brady continues to move Diggs all around the field which prevents teams from being able to zero in on him unless they designate a specific shadow. The Eagles could do that with Darius Slay or James Bradberry but neither of those two are going to be able to hang with Diggs the entire time. So the Bills get to play match-ups and Diggs should thrive against these corners. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
WR | Puka Nacua | LA @ ARI Sun 4:05 | 7600 | 8200 |
We hope Matthew Stafford was able to shake off any rust during his Week 11 return and enables him to freely find his receivers downfield against this highly-suspect Cardinals secondary. The last time Nacua faced them, it was Cooper Kupp's first game of the season so he was forced into the backseat. That won't be the case this time and we're 100% in for that. Keep an eye on the injury report as he was dealing with a shoulder issue, but he hasn't missed any time because of it. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Mostly cloudy | ||||
WR | Mike Evans | TB @ IND Sun 1:00 | 7400 | 8000 |
On paper, the match-up seems to favor Chris Godwin, but we all know that Evans is Baker Mayfield's favorite target. Against this Colts secondary, we're ready to lock Evans into some lineups, for sure. They rank 18th in DVOA against the opposing WR1 and are giving up an average of 78.5 receiving yards per game to them. Given how Tampa's secondary has struggled recently, we could see a bit of a back-and-forth between these teams. Nothing crazy, but enough to give Evans some added value. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
WR | Tank Dell | JAC @ HOU Sun 1:00 | 6900 | 7800 |
Yes, yes. We all love Tank Dell. No doubt about it. While Nico Collins is technically the WR1 in this offense, Dell is garnering a huge amount of CJ Stroud's attention and with the fact that they move him around the field as often as they do, he is exposing a lot of holes in a lot of secondaries. Again, the Jags are allowing the fourth-most passing yards and the way you have to beat them is through the air. Expect Stroud to do some gunslinging and get Dell into your lineups to reap the benefits. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
WR | Michael Pittman | TB @ IND Sun 1:00 | 6800 | 7600 |
Pretty much everything I discussed in the Gardner Minshew section and even the Mike Evans section plays here for Pittman. The Colts are coming off the bye and we expect them to take it to the air this week against the Bucs. Tampa's run defense kind of dictates that, but so does their struggling secondary. Pittman should garner plenty of targets and opportunities to score. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
WR | Adam Thielen | CAR @ TEN Sun 1:00 | 7300 | 7500 |
Well, I'm not going to put Bryce Young in here and not attach him to Thielen, am I? Heck no. This Titans secondary continues to struggle and once they start beating down Carolina with Derrick Henry and Tyjae Spears, the Panthers are likely to take it to the air in full-on catch-up mode. The Titans give up the sixth-most fantasy points per game to the wide receiver position, so you can bank on Thielen to get the bulk of that production. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
WR | Chris Olave | NO @ ATL Sun 1:00 | 6600 | 7300 |
I probably like him a little more with Jameis Winston under center than Derek Carr, but Olave is the top dog in this passing game and with Michael Thomas landing on IR, the Saints are going to have to lean on him a little more to get the job done. The Falcons do have solid corners in A.J. Terrell and Jeffrey Okudah, but those corners have also been beaten deep on several occasions. If the Falcons can't get it together and produce longer, more sustained drives, the defense is going to tire out quickly and Olave is going to burn them on the outside. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
WR | DeAndre Hopkins | BAL @ LAC Sun 8:20 | 6100 | 7200 |
He's Will Levis' favorite target and rightfully so, as Hopkins has proven to be the most reliable pass-catcher on this team. Once the Titans run all over the Panthers, the passing game will open up more and Hopkins will expose a defense that ranks 26th against the opposing WR1 and allows them an average of just over 70 receiving yards per game. Yes, please! Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Mostly clear | ||||
WR | Calvin Ridley | CAR @ TEN Sun 1:00 | 6000 | 7100 |
We are not chasing last week's points here so don't even start with me. In fact, I was the only one who told you all to use Ridley and Trevor Lawrence last week, so take your point-chasing accusations and stuff 'em in a sack. Houston ranks 22nd in DVOA against the pass and they give up the eighth-most passing yards per game this season. But where this is most special is that the Texans are sitting in zone coverage almost 83-percent of the time (according to our friends over at PFF) and that is where Ridley thrives the most. You want Christian Kirk against man-coverage and Ridley against zone. Follow that formula and everything else will be cream cheese. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
WR | Hollywood Brown | KC @ LV Sun 4:25 | 5200 | 6500 |
Hollywood! Dammit, man. let's get it together. We've seen two games with Kyler Murray back and the old college chums just haven't connected. Maybe it was the match-ups, but those struggles aren't going to last forever. I had Brown in the Watch List last week and then pulled him from lineups to use Rondale Moore. The masses will stay with Moore and forget Brown which is perfect for us, right? When the masses are off a guy, that's when we want him most. Especially against the Rams who rank 22nd in DVOA against the opposing WR1 and are allowing an average of 78.2 receiving yards per game to them. We'll probably only use him in GPP tournaments for now, but watch for Brown and Murray to reunite this week and beyond. Game Type: CASH & GPP | ||||
TE | Trey McBride | LA @ ARI Sun 4:05 | 4700 | 6100 |
We can stay with Arizona as we transition to the tight ends and really…is there any reason not to use McBride? OK, the price on FD is a bummer, but under $5K on DK? Sign me up. The Rams rank 30th in DVOA against the tight end and they allow the seventh-most fantasy points per game to them. With the target share McBride sees, we are going to definitely want to stay invested. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Mostly cloudy | ||||
TE | Dalton Kincaid | BUF @ PHI Sun 4:25 | 5300 | 6000 |
While Travis Kelce only racked up 44 yards this past week against the Eagles, he did find the end zone and he had like three drops that probably cost him another 30-plus yards. Like Andrew Cooper with me and the TE Whisperer moniker, Kincaid is looking to have the baton passed to him by Kelce as the top receiving tight end. And you know what…? He could be in line for it. Th Eagles rank dead last in DVOA against the position and allow the eighth-most fantasy points per game to them. With the target share he sees regularly, Kincaid could be in for a huge day. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Partly sunny | ||||
TE | David Njoku | CLE @ DEN Sun 4:05 | 4100 | 5700 |
Very few people will look to use Njoku this week because no one likes his quarterback. I, on the other hand, love the fact that a rookie QB loves to lean on the tight end and we just witnessed it first-hand when DTR targeted him 15 times against the Steelers. The two will continue to work on their on-field rapport and that should set us up to be in a great spot against a Denver team that ranks 31st in DVOA against the position and allows the most fantasy points per game to them. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny | ||||
TE | Pat Freiermuth | PIT @ CIN Sun 1:00 | 2900 | 4900 |
While there wasn't much of anything for Freiermuth last week – just one target all day – things are potentially looking up in the Steel City with the firing of offensive coordinator Matt Canada. We'll see how the offense adjusts and what new OC Eric Faulkner have in mind, but this match-up against the Bengals looks pretty tasty. Cincinnati ranks 28th in DVOA against the tight end, they allow an average of almost 60 receiving yards per game to them and the Bengals are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Nothing would make Steelers fans happier than to be screaming “MUUUUUUUTH!” when he finds the end zone this week. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Cloudy | ||||
TE | Juwan Johnson | NO @ ATL Sun 1:00 | 3000 | 4700 |
So this is going to be an interesting play, because I always worry about Taysom Hill and all that nonsense. But Johnson is a strong physical specimen and with Michael Thomas gone, they need to rely on some quality pass-catchers and forget about all the goofy nonsense. I'm not sure if he stays and makes the final Playbook this weekend, but with the way Atlanta struggles to cover the middle of the field, this could be a great time to use Johnson and get him at super-low ownership too. Game Type: CASH & GPP Weather: Sunny |

Given how Tampa's secondary has struggled recently, we could see a bit of a back-and-forth between these teams. Nothing crazy, but enough to give Evans some added value. Tank Dell, WR | ||||
Michael Pittman, WR | ||||
Adam Thielen, WR | ||||
Chris Olave, WR | ||||
DeAndre Hopkins, WR | ||||
Calvin Ridley, WR | ||||
Hollywood Brown, WR | ||||
Trey McBride, TE | ||||
Dalton Kincaid, TE | ||||
David Njoku, TE | ||||
Pat Freiermuth, TE | ||||
Juwan Johnson, TE | ||||
