Top FanDuel & DraftKings Week 12 DFS Value Plays
Russell Wilson, QB Denver Broncos
Running it back with Russell Wilson here this week. The cover of my DFS QB Coach for Week 14, Wilson has a great matchup here against the Los Angeles Chargers whom rank among the worst defense in the NFL against opposing passing attacks. Wilson has given us nearly 18 fantasy points in four of the last five weeks and in a matchup like this, we could see another multi-touchdown performance from Wilson here this weekend.
Jerick McKinnon, RB Kansas City Chiefs
The team announced that with Isiah Pacheco out of the lineup that Clyde Edwards-Helaire is going to get the start and therefore everyone is seemingly flocking to the cheaper and expected starter in CEH this week but McKinnon is also rather cheap and the game flow of this one may dictate that we see a lot more of McKinnon in a shootout against the Bills than we will CEH. McKinnon was a league winner last season in fantasy and I'm sure the Chiefs haven't forgotten how much of an impact he made down the stretch for them.
Drake London, WR Atlanta Falcons
We get the Falcons out of the bye, at home, and facing a Buccaneers defense that is missing siginificant pieces of their secondary here this week. This is the cheapest we've seen London this season and that's likely the reason for the high expected rostership in GPP tournaments this weekend. It's never fun trusting an Arthur Smith run offense but London is in a prime spot to exceed value this week.
Kylen Granson, TE Indianapolis Colts
Complete shot in the dark here this week but we know the Bengals are a secondary that has struggled against opposing tight ends this season and Granson did play more snaps that Will Mallory last week while catching all three of his targets for 72 yards. If Granson gets going here this week with as he continues to see his role expand there could be a decent upside play at a bare bones price tag.
Player News
Seahawks RB Kenny McIntosh (knee) was carted off the field in practice Saturday.
Fellow running backs Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet were seen talking to the third-year running back as he was helped onto the cart during a camp practice Saturday, with initial testing revealing a potentially torn ACL. McIntosh was set to enter the 2025 regular season third on the team’s depth chart, also a regular contributor on special teams. There is the potential for the team to explore free agent help at the position considering the general lack of depth behind Walker and Charbonnet following McIntosh’s injury.
Rams HC Sean McVay said QB Matthew Stafford (back) will not practice next week.
McVay stated that the team is not expecting Stafford to miss more than the first portion of camp, indicating they believe he will be back on the practice field in short order. “I don’t have any reason to be concerned,” McVay added later in the press conference with media following practice Saturday. Stafford has been sidelined at the beginning of camp with back soreness, something that doesn’t seem to be overly serious for the 37-year-old quarterback even though his initial timeline for return to team activities has now been prolonged.
Titans WR Treylon Burks (collarbone) injured Saturday in camp.
Burks came down awkwardly following a reception in camp Saturday, with initial testing indicating a broken collarbone. The injury is highly likely to sideline him for the start of the regular season. The Titans brought in a slew of pass-catching help this offseason, including wide receiver Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson, both of whom were projected to start over the former first-round receiver come September. This injury could be the proverbial nail in the coffin for the once-promising prospect following a torn ACL suffered in Week 5 of the 2024 season.
Vikings signed S Joshua Metellus to a three-year, $36 million extension.
The deal keeps Metellus attached to the Vikings through the 2028 season. Metellus, a former No. 205 overall pick, was initially waived by the Vikings before being brought back on a team-friendly contract, only to earn a pay jump and more security through his play on the field. He heads into the 2025 season a seasoned starter for Brian Flores’ defense.
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) will miss multiple weeks of training camp.
Schultz adds that the goal is for Mixon to be ready for Week 1, but missing most, if not all, of camp and preseason is not ideal for Mixon. Mixon’s timeline has continued to be pushed back after initial reports stated he would be ready for camp, with follow-on reports stating he would “be ready at some point during training camp.” The fact that the injury is worse than was initially reported should raise some red flags for fantasy managers as we enter primetime draft season. Nick Chubb would presumably be the next man up in the Houston backfield should Mixon’s absence carry over into the regular season.
NFL Insider Jordan Schultz reports Mike Hilton is signing with the Dolphins.
The deal is for one year, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Hilton spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers and the last four with the Bengals. The 31-year-old safety started 23 games for the Bengals over the last two years. Hilton can also play nickel cornerback and could be used there with the Dolphins.
