Week 12 Monday Night Football Bears vs Vikings Predictions

Justin Fields, Chicago Bears – HIGHER Than 55.5 Rushing Yards

Justin Fields returned from injury last week and literally hit the ground running. The Chicago Bears’ dual-threat quarterback racked up 104 rushing yards on 18 carries against the Detroit Lions as he looked like the elite running QB we saw last year. The Bears clearly gameplanned more to use his legs on designed runs and that shouldn’t stop this week. Fields also looked more efficient and comfortable passing-wise with that balanced playcalling as his running momentum carried over to the air. Fields has now run for at least 46 yards in five of seven games this season while averaging 5.2 yards per carry. If he has double-digit rush attempts tonight, then 60+ rushing yards is definitely on the table. Against Minnesota back in October, Fields had 46 rush yards on eight carries before getting hurt. He would’ve easily had more than 55 yards with a full game. 

Ty Chandler, Minnesota Vikings – HIGHER Than 32.5 Rushing Yards 

For most of this season, Ty Chandler barely saw playing time in the Minnesota Vikings backfield. Well, that seems to be changing with Chandler now splitting the work more with Alexander Mattison. Over the past two games, Chandler has seen 15 and 10 carries with 45 and 73 rushing yards, respectively. He’s been slightly more efficient on the ground than Mattison and it’s possible Chandler will become the Vikings’ de facto lead back soon. Yes, the Bears defense is allowing the fewest rushing yards per game (79.5) and fewest yards per carry (3.4) this season. That’s a slight worry. Still, Chandler should have more than 32.5 rushing yards if he continues to see double-digit carries. The Vikings are looking for an improved run game now with Joshua Dobbs under center and it’s clear that Chandler will be a part of that.
