It also wouldn’t hurt to give thanks for the NFL DFS RBs who have and will help us win some cash along the way. 

It doesn’t get much better than eating good food with good company who you can compete against in a Thanksgiving Day NFL DFS slate! 

 

 

 

NFL Thanksgiving Day RBs

When it comes to Thanksgiving Day NFL DFS RBs, there isn’t much wiggle room considering we only have six teams’ rosters to choose from. However, there’s at least one value priced NFL DFS RB, that I’ll reveal later, that you should consider inserting into your Thanksgiving Day NFL DFS lineup.

I wouldn’t fault you for using Miami Dolphins NFL DFS RB De’Von Achane ($7,700 DK/$9,000 FD). However, he’s the most expensive back on the Thanksgiving Day slate and he’ll be playing in Green Bay with temps hovering in the upper 20 degree range. 

The Packers have been tough against the run of late (3.76 YPC to NFL DFS RBs in their last three games) and I’d rather avoid using a RB like Achane based on his matchup and since he’s more accustomed to playing in warm weather environments.

The good news is that there are enough Week 13 NFL DFS RBs playing on Thanksgiving Day that I am not avoiding and that can help you create a competitive NFL DFS lineup this week. Have a great Thanksgiving and I hope it’s a profitable one! 

 

 

 

NFL DFS RB Top-Tier Picks For Thanksgiving Day

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB Detroit Lions - DraftKings: $7,500 | FanDuel: $8,400 

Detroit Lions RBs have a good matchup against a Chicago Bears run defense that has given up just over 5 YPC to NFL DFS RBs in their last five games. I love David Montgomery’s relatively affordable NFL DFS salaries ($6,500 DK/$7,600 FD) and under normal circumstances I’d start him, but his shoulder injury is concerning. 

Whether you start Montgomery or not in Week 13 depends on your risk tolerance. Mine is fairly low and Gibbs’ ceiling for Week 13 is pretty high. I might diversify and sprinkle in Montgomery shares into some of my NFL DFS lineups, but Gibbs is the Lions RB that I have the most confidence in starting in Week 13.  

Josh Jacobs, RB Green Bay Packers - DraftKings: $7,000 | FanDuel: $7,800 

Jacobs is coming off a monster Week 12 in which he ran for 106 yards and scored three rushing TDs. This week he gets to play against a warm weather Miami Dolphins team in Green Bay’s ‘frozen tundra”. Temperatures are expected to be in the 20’s by kickoff and Jacobs loves playing in Green Bay. 

Overall, he averages 4.3 YPC in his career but he has averaged 4.86 YPC in eight career games when playing in Green Bay. The Dolphins’ run defense has gradually improved throughout the season but overall is giving up 4.41 YPC, and the fifth most rushing TDs (10) to NFL DFS RBs this season.


 

 


 

NFL DFS RB Thanksgiving Day Fades & Turkeys 

Tyrone Tracy, RB New York Giants - DraftKings: $5,800 | FanDuel: $6,500

After recommending him as a value pick just a week ago I’m sure you’re not surprised that I’ll be avoiding using Tyrone Tracy Jr. as one of my NFL DFS RBs this week. 

The New York Giants’ offense is a mess and with Tracy Jr. having fumbled three times (and losing two of them) over the past two weeks, we already saw Devin Singletary and Eric Gray play more snaps than usual for the “G men” in Week 12. Tracy Jr.’s NFL DFS salary may look like a bargain, but I think he’ll get stuffed on Thanksgiving Day. 

D’Andre Swift, RB, Chicago Bears - DraftKings: $6,000 | FanDuel: $6,700

Swift has a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, who have given up the fourth fewest rushing yards to NFL DFS RBs this season. 

After a brief upswing in his season from Weeks 4 through 7, Swift is only averaging 3.58 YPC in his last four games. He’s also played poorly on the road (3.6 YPC) this season compared to when he plays at home (4.2 YPC).

 

 

 

NFL Thanksgiving Day Value RB Play Of The Day

Rico Dowdle, RB Dallas Cowboys - DraftKings: $5,500 | FanDuel: $6,100

Everything seems to be in place for Dowdle to have a Thanksgiving Day feast against the New York Giants. I think he’ll finally score a TD against a Giants run defense that has given up five of them in their last four games as well as 4.82 YPC to NFL DFS RBs. 

Dowdle is the Cowboys’ primary back, he’s coming off a good week against the Washington Commanders, and he’s averaging 4.57 YPC and just over three receptions in his last four games. He’s a real value since his DFS salary is $300 less than Tyrone Tracy’s salary on the DraftKings platform and $400 less on the FanDuel platform.
